  • I had one recently who was not responding to my emails regarding the payment. I brought the issue up on here in another thread you might remember, but anyway it got to the 10th day and I said if I don't recieve the money by the 14th day you will be reported. Well I put it more polite than that but I hoped this would spark some sort of reply. Well it never and this 14th day arrived so I put a non-paying bidder report in. The day after bingo I got replys like nothing was wrong and a bit later the payment which suited me just fine! :)

I had one like this a few weeks ago. I only accept Paypal on my auctions but the buyer contacted me after 2 days and said they were having a problem with their Paypal account, and could they pay by cheque. I reluctantly agreed as they seemed very genuine, however, I said that I would not post the item until the cheque cleared.

About 3 days later the cheque arrived (on Friday morning) with a note saying that they needed the item urgently and they must have it by Saturday, the next day!! Cheek of it!!! They paid me extra money for 1st Class delivery so it would get there faster!

I paid the cheque into the bank Friday morning. Against my better judgement, I also posted the item out Friday morning by 1st Class, thinking that the cheque would probably be OK as it was less than a tenner.

That was over a week ago. The cheque has cleared, but I have no idea if the buyer actually got the item on time or not, as they have neither contacted me or left feedback!

I am now a bit worried, as I am half expecting negative feedback if it didn't arrive when they asked. So I have not left any feedback for them yet, and will not do so until they leave it for me. A bit of a daft standoff, but since I have done nothing wrong and even gone out of my way for them, I will wait for their comments first!

After this I will not be accepting any more cheques just to keep people happy.

I think if they never got the product they would let you know about it. I have loads that i've not recieved feedback from, the most concerning however are the items that I send to the likes of USA & Canada. Well I like to think of it as 'no news is good news' :)

I decided to wait, and then sent them a friendly reminder on Saturday. And now it's a week and a half after the sale finished and I haven't heard anything. What should I do now?

Sounds like you have a non-paying bidder here.

File a non-paying bidder report with EBay. If the buyer does not respond after 7 days you will get your Final Value Fee refunded. Chances are they will not given what has happened so far.

    Then re-list the item.

Then leave appropriate feedback if you wish.

They've been a member since August, but don't have any feedback yet.

deosnt excuse them though... as mentioned, post a NPB and wait, if they dont comply, then you get a refund of fees from ebay and then can relist it or offer it to the second highest bidder
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)

    Hi juno

I'm in the same position, having sent a gentle reminder yesterday, I've still heard nothing. See here However it does seem that the buyer hasn't done anything since last week, so perhaps there is a good reason. You can check by placing their username in the seach section for both sellers and bidders, even if they aren't the highest bidder. A good tip if you have a bidder who has private feedback, you can get to see their recent transactions, even though you can't see their feedback directly you can check via the other user
