It's no wonder chucky chicken is getting all nasty, after that fox nearly killed him a week or two ago. What, with that little incident and the news from Halifax, it isn't suprising. I advised chucky to join a gym, but either that advice wasn't taken, or it isn't helping.

I simply make a few reasonable comments, and I get pecked by the chucky. Still, I have a box of Paxo in the kitchen cupboard, and I`m not afraid to use it.

btw - who are these bulls?? do they exist??

is the world split into bulls and bears??

The bulls I was referring to were mentioned in StevieJ's post (those of a bullish persuasion), which is the post I was replying to. I think it's reasonabull to call people of a bullish persuasion "Bulls", and people of a bearish persuasion "Bears". It's hardly a derogatory or insulting label, is it ?

Ahhh, I fell for it. chucky's pointless diversion tactic - pick up on something fairly insignificant, and try and create an argument out of it. I might be clutching at straws, but I think that's what's going on.

I must resist calling anyone a Bull or a Bear, otherwise chucky will start asking questions. Or should I just ignore chucky's feeble accusations ?

Another thing related to this news, was it reported on any mainstream news channels ? The first I heard was on Radio 5 on the way home. The words "house prices dipped again" (is that what chucky means by a soundbite ?) were used. They can't quite bring themselves to use the word "fell" or "fall", can they ? I watched the headlines on BBC News 24 at 9AM, it wasn't mentioned. If I remember correctly, they did mention Nationwide's December figures, and even interviewed a bloke from Nationwide.

If I were a little cynical, I might suspect that the BBC have a slight bias towards increasing property prices.

    Rediculous paranoia.

    Ridiculous spelling.

Paranoia ? That means that I'm being delusional, imagining that the mainstream media are not reporting today's Halifax figures as heavily as they've broadcast them in the past (when prices were up, month after month). So, they did report the figures this morning, I`m just imagining they didn't. That makes me feel paranoid.

I am still uncertain what is going to happen in the future, YES i would like to see 40% plus falls, whether it happens i have no idea.
hold on - you're not sure here

but then contradict yourself in the space of 4 posts from being veryu sure to not so sure...

all the indicies there is without doubt a downward trend, you would have to be a muppet not to acknowledge the fact.

There will be falls this year, no doubt about, and in three years property prices wil be lower than they are now.
haha - you were very sure and everyone was a muppet if they didn't think like you before but have discredited your initial post very quickly.

Not sure if it has been mentioned already but prices are now back to 2004 levels
sales prices are no where near 2004 levels.

Halifax mortgage approvals might be at 2004 levels.

what year are Nationwide mortgage approvals at?

Great thread, is the -1.6% taking into account inflation? :)
