  • i had a wander down to my local Boots (whilst OH in bed sleeping) and there was only me and another woman waiting outside. By 5 to there were 4 of us. To be honest there wasn't much there anyway but I managed to get a taco set for £3.75 and a Rosie's Pantry tea set for £4 for my two best friends and I picked up a Mug for OH for 0.87p and a "cute or what" mug and coaster set for me for £1.50 (we've recently moved in together so we needed some more mugs plus i thought my mug was really cute!) I also treated myself to one of the mini perfume sets for £4.75 :) and i got some gift tags for 0.37p! :)

My mum and sister had gone to the Lakeside store, which when i phoned my sister, sounded mental! Glad i'm too ill/skint to go that far! :) Besides in the past when i have bought stuff as gifts for others, i have ended up keeping them for myself or my mum buys the ones i like off me to give to me for xmas! :rotfl:

overall i am happy with my tiny haul - i just wish i had more money to pick up some of the other stuff there! Esp the perfume sets and the Soap and Glory drums with the Apron (worth it at £4 for the scrub and hand cream!)

Hope you all got what you wanted!!! :):)
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

I went to the Huddersfield store there was a queue but some of us were laughing and joking i ended up taking a basket big mistake my god one woman had about 6 large case things in her hand god knows what they were she just grabbed them i put a few things in my basket and went for another a lovely sales assistant saw i was stuggling and said to leave the one i had and she would keep a watch over it. One woman just scopped everything on one shelf into her large net basket. There was no blocking of aisles i even passed some items to one woman who could not reach. I would have got more but could not carry it i went for some birthday presents and mens gifts sets because my son uses spray like it going out of fashion and is so expensive so £2 for spray and shower gel will keep him for a few months. Big praise for the woman on the till who saved my basket she was lovely and ended up serving me.

I strolled into my local at Kingsway Derby at about 9.15am. Only about a handfull of people browsing the sale.

    I managed to get

3 x mens miniture aftershave sets
    strictly eye collection
    soap & glory foodie tin
    strictly fab nails
    space alien alarm clock
    some cosy slippers
    trevor sorbie mini bag
    chilli pepper eye pallette
    xmas cards
    ladies miniture perfume set

    Grand total = £41.50 saving a lovely £124.50

there were loads of hello kitty stuff, loads of santuary sets still left.
  • Got £52 worth of stuff and very pleased. I did put some things back as I thought - do I really need this and that!! Westwood Cross was full of people and full shelves. I found it very civilised, although I did hear that there was a bit of a scuffle somewhere.

Couldn't believe that there was just one woman with a trolly slowly going round and round making a nuisance of herself.. I dont think she bought anything just being annoying... very strange!! Everyone else had the big blue bags filling them up.

When I left the store, there was plenty left!!

Well worth it this year. don't know whether I shall bother next year though!! :j
  • just had an update from my sister who is at the lakeside store. Apparently one woman has a trolley full of nothing but sanctuary sets... hmmm wonder if they will end up on ebay?

  • Arrived at Swansea branch on my lonesome to get a GU selection box, as my friends birthday is coming up and she loves them! There were about 40 people waiting outside the store and as soon as the shutters started rising, people were diving under the doors and running up the stairs... it was like something out of a film! I've never been before so was an interesting experience. There were a lot of polite friendly people thank god, but this is truly a consumer society... there were several woman with 5 giants bags filled to the brim. 'How many friends do these women have?!' I thought to myself as I watched a woman shoving 10 ted baker gift sets into a bag. How impersonal, god knows what she'll do with them, I'd hate giving all my friends the same gift, unless she plans to sell them on! Clearly not everyone was like this but it was an experience watching the havoc. I felt sorry for the workers there!
