    One word - Animals!

Animals? It was all very civilised at the store I went to - everyone was very polite and moved out the way for each other to get to the shelves, no grabbing, elbows or blocking aisles. Stock went because it was reasonably busy. The staff were very pleasant and helpful too.

What a morning. My plumber came yesterday and said that he would need to come back this morning to finish off - my heart sank because I would miss the sale first time in years, felt a bit sad last night :(. Hubby woke me up this morning and aksed if it was definitely on, checked here - it was - so he said go now and I will get the kids ready and wait for plumber :j. So was sat in my car waiting for doors to open.

Managed to get the Sanctury box I nearly bought at 1/2 price, for my mum. A lovely cranberry gift bag for my sis, and a watch gift set for my daughter.

And I have to say I've never met so many grumpy ill mannered people before . It was an eye opener.

Will have to go and confess on the No spending for a year thread now. Good luck everyone and thanks for letting me know.

OMG what a nightmare that was!! That's the last time I ever bother with this sale - or at least on the first morning :( Got there just after 9am and there was already 100s of people crowding the aisles, trolleys blocking the way, women grabbing armfuls of whatever off the shelves, couldn't move, couldn't get near anything to look, so I just gave up and walked out :(
In ALL the many years I've been doing this sale, I've NEVER never known it be like that before. It's always been very civilised, only maybe a dozen or so shoppers browsing quietly and stepping aside to let you pass etc, I've normally been in and out before 9:30 with about £400 "worth" of stuff to last the year, but today I got ZILCH just walked right out :(
  • I've never quite seen anything like it. One women with 3 great big bags, used her forearm to push about 15 fcuk boxer sets in her bag. She then turned round and did the same with her other bag.
Thats 30 sets @ £3 each. I asked if she would be leaving any and she just grunted and kicked the 2 bags to the next isle where she proceeded to do the same to the duplo Lego sets. A very selfish women amongst many other shoppers in my local.

Got to my store for twenty to 8, opens at 8am, about 5-8 people there already when I got there, but by ten too there was a pretty long que. Not as bad as last year when there was just the one isle of stuff and everyone was crushed, it was over two isles and along the side, so not such a concentration of people. Still busy but managable. Only thing that was difficult was using the square hard baskets, didnt see the net bags which make it a long easier to carry things without dropping things out of your basket!

I didnt have a list of anything i wanted so just picked things up I though would be good for presents or what I would like and put it all in my basket then went over to a corner and decided which I was keeping and which I didnt want. Best buy was a leather wallet £10 down to £2.50 for OH, have been looking for one for a while which has a zip up coin section so very happy. Spent my £12.50 points and a £5 love to shop voucher (sun Perks), and the rest came to £15.00 cash (10 items in total, including the big sanctuary set and FCUK hat box). Very pleased, and glad I didnt go too over board as it is easy to do when you see so much stuff. Thats another year done!
Best wins: Brit Awards & After Show Party Tickets 2012; Samsung Galaxy Note; 32" widescreen TV; £500 National Garden Vouchers; Kindle Fire HD; £100 high-street gift card; Kindle; Diamond Necklace; BAFTA TV Awards Tickets 2015;

For the past few years I've attended the Salisbury sale and it was pretty quiet and dignified.....however I went to Ayr store this morning, got there about 10 mins after opening and there were no baskets to be had and the first thing I heard was a SA teling the manager 'they're not even letting me in to put the signs up'........not good. I have never seen so many greedy people in my life. There were women passing sets to others at the end of the aisles to add to their stash. Women with 10 baskets full!!!!! People strategically leaving buggies at the end of aisles so no-one could get past and just greedy people buying 5 of one thing, 8 of another..etc. I got about 6 things to put away for presents - couldn't be bothered looking for any others as so fed up with greedy people and their stashes at the end of aisles....don't think I'll bother next year.....or will I....lol.

Hope everyone got/gets what they want!

Well, got me bargains. All very civilised even though it was a bit of a crush. Shop assistants kept bringing stuff out when the shelves emptied, such as the big Dove bath set, really good value at £3.75! Loads of make up sets and men's FCUK boxer sets. Stuff was flying off the shelves though so get there quick if you want anything decent or there will just be cards and wrap left as usual :)
