Pls can someone tell me how to upload my jpg of Boots Receipt to forum , it asks me for a URL ??? I want to set the record straight!
I quite agree with Helensuzanne, can't believe anyone had the cheek to ask you for "proof of purchase" of sale goods.
Don't worry about it suzy, you were in the right place at the right time and good for you!0 -
Sounds to me hon like you just got lucky, I think I remember hearing stories like this last year where smaller stores didn't realise the sale hadn't started and let people get stuff at 75% off, and the same must have happened again in your store! Doesn't stop me being green eyed with envy, but I'm glad you got your bargains!

If I'm not much mistaken too, isn't asking for copies of receipts more of a HUKD thing to do?!0

I really wouldn't worry about it, you got lucky - sure people are just wishing it was their store that had done the same.
Same thing happened to my friend last year, we both went to seperate towns when the Boots sale was rumoured to be starting on the 13th Jan. When I arrived at my large Boots all still 50% off but at the small Boots my friend had gone to they'd put the signs out the night before for 75% off and just overode the tills for them.
I couldn't believe it when she told me, but I was pleased at least one of us had got lucky and we both got plenty more the following week when it all went to 75% off.:)
This thread has kept me so entertained the last week and I'm sure it will all hot up again in a few days, even OH has started reading it and was shocked when he read about women with trollies blocking aisles and clearing entire shelves. Haven't seen this in my local one - yet !0 -

Oh I kid you not! :rotfl:A few years ago, at the Lakeside branch, some women had apparently told the Manager that they had driven 80 miles, for the sale, and they wanted trollies for their goodies, which Lakeside branch didn't have.
My mate and I were by the food exit of M & S, when we saw 2 Boots staff feeding £1 coins into 8 or 9 trollies, so we asked them what they were doing and they told us they were needed for these women! People were using arms to sweep entire shelves of stock into their trollies and when we asked for one pack of a mans travel set, we were told no, they were needed for a "Charity Auction".
Another friend was at the Basildon branch, and apparently the riots were so bad, the store had to be shut! I was in the Romford Liberty branch this morning, and one of the SAs said they were primed for the sale last Wednesday, but had no idea when it would be.
And according to her, Boots online store was "moving" and that might be why there was no sale stuff online?????? I reckon you could be blindfolded, and pick any date from the calendar for the sale, and we'd all have an equal chance of being right!

Oh my God, some of the stories I've read on here and on the Grabbit thread about rugby scrums and people blocking aisles so they can sweep the shelves clean!! Yikes!! The store I normally do my sale shopping at is very civilised, normally just a few quiet groups of shoppers behaving politely and considerately! I don't usually see anyone taking more than a couple of each item, and by the time I leave at around 9:30 there is usually still lots left on the shelf!! I hope to goodness it stays that way!0
