Boots 75% off sale - possible date

I know it's not got 50% off but since last night I've not been able to add something from the Premium Beauty Offers section - the Clarins Extra Firming Gift set (£15 off), I can add things to my basket from non sale items from the site, but nothing from this section...... I posted on their facebook site last night, but no reply as yet. It's like nothing is available now or something.

I'm getting confused. I first started reading this thread a few weeks ago and everyone seemed quite certain it's the 3rd Wednesday in January and someone even posted previous year's dates.

However now we have people posting 'it's not today' or 'it's tomorrow'.

Is this just something people do 'for fun' on here. I don't often look back at this thread as i was under the impression it's next Wednesday and that's it.

I think people that are saying maybe its tomorrow every day are just hoping.

Yes, like you I agree that it will be next wednesday as its always a Wednesday so next wednesday is looking the best bet, if they actually do a 75% sale this year.

Just been into my York boots and the fcuk bags are now 75% off, so I think maybe they may do select items this year!

According to a few pages back the fcuk bags have been 75% off for over a week, seems they must have had a load of stock of them.

You could be right though, they may just do selected items instead of across the board.

Yes the FCUK bags went to 75% off on 6th January - probably to try and lure customers in to buy lots more at 50% off

I'm a temp xmas ops shop assistant, i work weekends and the 14th is my last day at boots. The manager at my shop told me there wasn't going to be 75% off this year, which hopefully is not true. But im in the dark as is everyone else i've asked at work including team leaders. And the number one reason they do this is because it is dependant on sales. The 50% off always starts the first day opened after xmas, once they sell a certian ammount at 50% they'll put it to 75%. When boots has a star buy, like the fcuk bag that doesn't sell well they'll put that at 75% and leave the rest in hopes people will buy more of the 50% stuff. Another factor is how much stock is boots own, like sanctuary or natural collection... No7. Boots have a higher mark up on these items because they make and supply them so selling them at 75% is still going to make them a decent profit. However, the other brands, fcuk, champneys, s&g have to be bought by boots first so they stand to make a lot less profit if they sell them at 75%. This is why this sale is not previously announced. Head office is keeping an eye on how much of the non boots units get shifted, when they reach a certian quota, green light for 75%. So, why the confusion? As boots employees the SA's make assumptions based on their stores and stores vary. My store has loads, so it probably wont start soon, another SA might think the opposite. We were sent the 75% signs and assumed that they were to be used, but last minute calculations at head office changed everything. Boots will take it weekend by weekend, so if sales are good this weekend, next wednesday will be 75%. It is entirely possible that it could be the end of february. Or they could even decide to sell stock to places like tkmax, although that is pretty unlikely. Wooooo.... Long post. I just wanted to clear a few things up!

It was me who posted the previous dates, I'm nerdy like that and keep all my old diaries with the dates in!!! Going by those, I've been 99% certain all along that it would happen Wed 18th Jan, however I like many others have been swept up with sale fever and enjoying reading all the will-it won't-it rumours It was always hugely unlikely to happen as early as yesterday, but I'd have kicked myself if I'd stubbornly stayed home yesterday and then found out it had started sooner than I thought!
Unless Boots are going to dramatically change the way they do things this year, I can't see it happening today, tomorrow or any day other than a Wednesday!
