I must be nerdy too, cagsd, as Ive kept my Boots Receipts from previous 2 years, and I agree that if Boots do the same this year as previous, they say that they are not :shhh: having a 75% sale, but do.

I also agree that it has always been on a wednesday and :j fingers crossed should start next wednesday, 18th January 2012. :dance:


And I miss the old BOOTS THREAD that got deleted and not allowed from a year or 2 ago. The Tuesday before the 75% sale wednesday was a mission in itself trying to read and keep up with the comments as it was sooooo fast, but great fun.

Some people who recognised my name from The Grand Old Boots Exclusive Grabbit Thread (those were the days!), have PMd me to ask if I know:

a) when is the 75% sale starting

b) will it definitely be a Wednesday

c) will it be followed 2 weeks later by the 90% sale

d) will the Boots Grabbit Thread ever be reinstated

And the answer to all of them is ................. I don't know! The Boots Grabbit Thread was removed because a few people caused problems, and then reappeared with new names, and carried on causing trouble ............... and we all suffered when the thread was pulled.

Loads of us wrote pleading messages to the Mods, even asking if it could just be reinstated for the annual 75% sale, to no avail. :( So I doubt there will ever be a new Boots Grabbit thread, which was run with wonderful precision by the Angel :A known as Crazyposhgal.:T

Who knows whether there will be a nationwide sale, or perhaps it will be random. Has Suzy of Clapham Junction posted her receipt yet, or have I missed that, because if it shows the words 75% discount or whatever, that at least shows that the tills were set up for the sale, and people won't be accused of porky-pieing!

And thank you for remembering my Boots Ode! I can't remember much of it myself but I think it began:

I think it went on for about another 20 lines, and I composed it whilst sitting up till silly o'clock one night ...... waiting for the sale to start online!

Good Luck to all Bootsers, who, whatever our ages, are all trying to get some Birthday or Christmas presents in advance, and save some dosh.:)

I went into the Buttermarket branch in Ipswich today. I asked a Sales Assistant who I know personally, and she said she has asked the manager about this herself but at the moment they won't tell their staff when or if further reductions will happen.

being one of those people that got excited and was looking forward to the possibility of 75% off starting yesterday, i rang the small liverpool store (even though i live in manchester!) that opened at 7, SA said it was the branch at a train station (so very small), to try and confirm the sale. the SA was very kind and polite and said she would have scanned an item to check for me but all the stores xmas stock had been transferred to another larger store in liverpool the day before to make way for new lines.
just a theory but maybe smaller stores that no longer have the xmas sale has just transferred any remaining xmas stock to a larger store. this was a common practice when i was a manger at clinton cards. stockports stock would be transferred to cheadle with double the display space, cheadle was able to put out new lines aswell as keep out sale stock because its bigger!

again this is just a theory form my experience of working in retail
