Boots 75% off sale - possible date

Thanks Lisa, haven't ventured as far as Castlepoint this year. Poole still had Gok, Fearne, Strictly sets, subuteo & weenicion too. Few Oriental Bowl sets, sweets wrapping paper from what I can remember, this was about lunchtime yesterday. Bournemouth town centre had no Gok, couple opened Fearne hatboxes, can't remember seeing Strictly cases, Glitterbabe mirror things, Subuteo flasks as well as other stuff, weenicons, little bit No17, AA sets, sweets, wrapping paper. Quite a lot just can't remember everything, was there 3ish yesterday.

Sorry have not posted earlier but have spent quite a lot of time with mum, who has no internet access, last two days. But a big thankyou to everyone who kept me entertained while waiting for the online sale to start. :T Sorry I fell asleep on you all, did stirr at some point and tried an order but not successful. :eek: Think was my first and last attempt as I was sooo tired in the morning missed opening in Poole and so didnt get the one thing for me or Playboy perfume set for DD which I knew they didn't have in Bournemouth. I was there about 15 mins after opening too, and found it really busy whereas think Bournemouth was not as bad as last year when I eventually got there at 10am.

I'm very please with what I did manage to get spent just over £200 which was about equally split between my mum and me. She is very pleased with what I picked up and we have written her xmas list for this year and ticked off a lot. Less of a worry for me to do it all now.

Have the battle scars to show I have been to the 2011 Boots 75% sale, not from any pushing and shoving, but carrying the big bags back to the car. Got bruises from corners of boxes etc bashing into my legs!!! :rotfl::rotfl: :rotfl:

If I pop in again, bound to at some point, will keep you updated as to whats left locally.

I placed 2 online orders, one at 8am and one at 2pm (both on the Weds). The earlier one has been despatched but the other still says 'we have received your order'. I'm worried!

Hi I did 2 orders on Wednesday 8.30am amd 4pm, my second was confirmed within an hour but I have only 5 minutes ago had confirmation email for first order, only took 54 hours to confirm! This was showing 'we have received your order'. I did phone Boots yesterday and they said there was a backlog doing the checks to confirm the orders. Hopefully yours will be through soon.

Hi, got my online order in just as the site went live, everything stayed in my basket so ordered the lot and everything was in stock, had a my acknowledgement at 4.45am and went back off to bed to catch a couple of hours sleep before I headed off to the shops to check what was available hence I didnt check my email acknowlegement, had my confirmation email at 5.30am and again didnt check, had confirmation my ordered had been dispatched and finally decide to look at the emails only to find that all the toys I had ordered had gone backto full price, I just wondered if anyone else had noticed this and if anyone had any advice on what to do before I send them back.

I had noticed post saying they might stay at half price which was fine but was very surprised that they went back to full :mad:

BTW it just arrived 5 enormous boxes, thats a good start to my 2011 Xmas plus lots of Birtday present too

I think the only thing you can do is return the toys.

I placed 4 orders all for small amounts, totalling less than £50. The first one has been dispatched. The other 3 are still showing being processed. I am preparing myself for 3 cancellation emails.

Thanks! I was talking to a SA in Castlepoint today about how bad Bournemouth was last year. I had my then 3 year old and a 3 month old with me and I was scared at points- my poor son got whacked a few times with people pushing so I ended up having to leave.
If my online bits turn up I'll be happy - most of the stuff I got was a waste of money as I gave them to people who I would normally have only bought a token gift for.

I must stop sale shopping now - need a new bedroom suite so must save my money!!

well just checking in from cardiff, not much else to do waiting at the hair dressers - boots here has almost nothing left, a few christmas cards and sweets but its litterally about 3 shelves worth

In hindsight, if boots can still make a profit at 75% off, can you imagine the profit margins...and also it makes you think alot of tat isnt actually worth it in the first place....but then again hindsight is a wonderful thing lol

Hi Cheapstuff thanks for the advise. I only had time to pop into the Oracle branch today, and to be honest not much there that I wanted (a few Gok, loads of Fearne & Strictly sets, a few toys, some sweet boxes, etc). But what I did find in the Clearance section were some Ruby and Millie small gold cosmetic cases at £2.00 each, which meant I could get 2 for each of my N07/R&M vouchers. I got 8 in total using 4 vouchers and they cost me nothing ! (the vouchers I accumulated from the Sale day when I split my shopping into batches of £30 so I could use the ACM 200 points for £30 spend). So I am a happy bunny ! And yes I have lots of friends and relatives that will appreciate the gold cosmetic cases.

And then as Claires is opposite managed to get some nice little bits in the 10 for £10 deal ! (thanks to all the people who posted about that)

I might have to pop into town at the weekend and if I get a chance I'll pop into Broad Street and see if they have anything I fancy. I so love the Boots 75% sale, I stock up for the year for birthdays/fathers day/mothers day/teacher presents, etc. So judging by the number of Fearne & Strictly sets left in Oracle, do you think they'll go down to 90% off (oh they were the days !) Does anyone know how soon after stuff goes down to 90% (if anything left !) Thanks !

Just rang Mr B as I only had 1 returns slip and needed 4, thought I would query the reason I was charged full price while I was making the call only for the lovely young lady to go off ask her superviser why, she came back to tell me they would refund the difference and I've just worked out they have given me the 75% discount on the toys, Thank you Mr B :T
