I can’t believe I’ve only been around here for a week, and how welcoming, motivational and motivated you guys are. Up this morning in time to empty and refill WM twice – and completely fill the airer - and put all the things in the airing cupboard which are not for ironing. Made my sandwiches (genuinely too tired last night), emptied the DW, washed up the non-DW pots, quick tidy around the whole house – and tonight I have plans to make Twinks Hobnobs and try out a new recipe which looks like a jaffa cake version of a little bun if that makes sense – ie orange bun, apricot filling and chocolate on top – after I’ve played taxi for the in-laws.
Oh, and have pizzled off my OH for making him an appointment at the Drs so that a ‘thing’ on his face can be looked at. I’ve been waiting nearly three months for him to do it, so I grabbed the proverbials ………. only to be told “can’t I do anything for myself …….” I pretended deafness, as the alternative was to assume he meant what he said and offer him one of Pigpen’s lists.toottifrootti wrote: »ETA Mrs_B what about the vacuum storage bags for the duvets etc that are not in use - they take up less space and keep them clean - what about asking on freecycle/freegle for a wadrobe/cupboard that you couls use for extra stuff and then you could get the kitchen stuff out of your wardrobe Dunelm have the vacuum bags and other places too - they are quite cheap - or under bed storage bags/boxes work well for bedding etc thats not in use so often.

These suggestions are brilliant – thanks guys. I ‘forget’ about Freecycle – especially asking for things – I belong to two locally and Don’t Dump That (or whatever it’s called!) but don’t visit them particularly regularly. Obviously once decluttering starts I will need to become a whizzy Freecycler AND work out how to sell on EBay!
And I know those bags are sold on our Market – I picked up a small one for £1 the other day for some craft stuff – flimsy, but if I’m just storing things they’d be just the thing. So a trip to investigate the Market at lunch, and a trip to Dunelm next week to look at vacuum storage bags.
Oh, and awkward me can’t put stuff under the bed – we have drawers – which are broke. Guess what, a new bed is on the list too!Work is not my Hobby0 -
Still waiting for the bed to turn up but have been up on the top floor for the last hours and have hoovered the space where the bed used to be and marvelled at the colour the carpet is supposed to be.
I have given the kid's rooms a good going over and put together bags of things to go on ebay at the weekend so just need to get them photographed and ready.
My list looks a lot less scary now!

I'm back from my walk and have done some of my list
Does anyone know how to get coffee stains and squash stains out of carpets/rugs? I should know this, but i don't and very  and
as my DS1 and DD tipped squash on my new rug a couple of days ago then the dog knocked over my coffee this morning. In all the time there was just laminate there while I was waiting for my rug NOTHING got spilt on it!!! Typical
Any help would be very much appreciated x

Need to put the heating on and have lunch, then a shower before my afternoon meetings. And maybe chuck a load of gym kit in the WM and set off the DW which is nearly full. I emptied and refilled it this morning and have liquidized a batch of soup (broccoli and potato made with pheasant stock... 5 pints).0 -
Finally made it back to the list. OH gone back to work after christmas break, so the flat looks like a pigsty at the moment, but hopefully after a couple of days using this thread it may be something like normal.
Hydrotherapy for my FMS killed me yesterday, so its a slow start to the tidying. Might just keep the mess down to a minimum and start afresh next week when hopefully the energy fairy will have visited.0 -
Hello - been busy but managed (just) to keep up with the lists. Luckily most things are still de-cluttered but its the reminders about bedding and stuff I have done!
Divorce solicitors trip this morning so that has started that ball rolling. And lots of polyfilling/sanding where the removal of the stud wall has left a few holes. Hope its enough as the guy is coming back to inspect the house again tomorrow AM (he wouldn't sign it off last week due to the wall). Lots of Ebay parcels done and gone, paid off my credit card because of it :j and still some left over to add to the pot for new carpets.
So hugs to anyone that needs them and I'm off to catch up on 2 days worth of posts. Might do that with a cup of coffee I think.0 -
