Advice required.. How do you wash your shower curtains?

Mine is black so obv will go in on its own or with black bath mat, but has no washing label.. 30C? Normal washing powder etc?

Well done with BT Sarah, way to go..............

I usually put my shower curtain in at 30deg with normal soap powder and it comes out fine.

Walked the dog and I have to say I looked very fetching in my FIL's old waterproof coat, waxed cotton hat, Gore-tex over trousers and navy blue with red and light blue spots wellies on; real glamour puss me;) Unfortunately the dog did decide it would be an excellent idea to roll in fox poo ... bleugh ... so when there was a big puddle in the field I washed her off by standing her in and soaking her in it. Serves her right, little minx!

Cat_smith, boo to BD - I'll tie it up at the bottom of the garden. Sometimes everything just gets on top of you doesn't it. Just keep going baby steps and it will all come together.

Shysarah, I don't know about the others but I fling the shower curtain in with the other bathroom stuff at 40 and wash just with powder, not conditioner. That might be wrong, but my curtain is surviving the harsh treatment I'm giving it!! Good luck with your appointment later; I'll be thinking of you x

Welcome to the new Flyladies, hope you'll enjoy it here and you'll soon start to see the difference to your house.

Kazwookie, glad OH feels up to getting out; I'm sure he'll be fine. Take the time to treat yourself whilst you can x

Right, going to do 20 mins decluttering now before school run - wish me luck!

ETA: Got the following ready to go to charity shop:
    3 of my skirts
    1 pair of my shorts
3 hooded towels (DS too big now)
    1 DD summer dress
    3 DD summer tops
    1 DD jeans
About 15 books DS too old for now/DD not interested in
1 playhouse I've taken from DS' room - will see if he notices it's gone - if not I'll get rid of it

Have had to hide all the stuff; DD gets very emotionally attached to everything of hers so won't tell her I've been through her wardrobe. One top was her High School Musical top which she was really fond of, but it's age 6 (she's 8) and just too small *sigh*. DS showing signs of this too (DH is a hoarder and they get it from him).

    Thanks Mollina Girl and Mumof2.

Will pop in shower curtain later when the load thats in now is done. Think I had a big belly incident and turned machine onto pause, then it wouldn't restart so have had to reset the cycle. Not to worry tho was only 10 mins in (TG).

I have had a good 20/30 minutes in my study. I only use it in summer as it is far too cold in the winter and I have a laptop. My desk however, has turned into a dumping ground. Now it is all organised again, all filing filed etc. Seem to have lost a book for my OU study. It is one I have already done but I am so fussy about books it is annoying me. Its not anywhere it should be so will keep me eyes peeled. I don't need it but I like to keep all of them.

Have also hung my many scarves on coat hangers and put nicely in wardrobe, cleared the ever growing floordrobe up and bedroom is a bit more acceptable too. And flushed away nasty bleach (bawk).

Anyway just nommed down a hot cross bun and have time for a coffee and a play about online before I must go to see counsellor. Yay (ironic joy).

Oooo fire is now roaring away.. took three flaming firelighters tho!!

    Hugs all round xx

  • Shysarah have you tried home made fire lighters?
Made out of cardboard egg boxes, sawdust and melted down old candles?
Just fill the egg "holes" with sawdust and pour on the wax.
When they're set you can cut them into 6, you'll probably only need one. just set light to the egg box and the wax acts like an accelerator and burns well whilst the sawdust keeps it going for longer - long enough to catch the kindling :)
I've become egg box obsessed LOL

Anyhoo I think I'm done for today unless I can defrag this pooter whilst I'm mooching about on line :)

Paulies_Nixie: Arrowroot biscuits? Very little flavour, good for dunking and keeping morning sickness at bay.

Shysarah: Counselling and decluttering are similar processes - bear with me here, Flyladies! - things come to light that you didn't know were there or they'd been stuffed so far back in a cupboard that you'd forgotten them. Apologies to all counsellors reading this! Often, patients feel really rubbish before they feel better.

Mrs B: have you thought about getting some of those enormous square woven bags with zipped tops? Not elegant but cheap as chips. http://www.diytrade.com/china/4/products/3107780/pp_woven_shopping_bag.html

OK, I think it's time to tackle that washing up mountain and put some laundry in before tackling that pile of stuff that accumulated in the corner of the bedroom on Sunday when I was clearing a cupboard:o

I've been sleeping really badly lately, I go off to sleep quite well but then I wake in the early hours and my brain is just going round and round. When I do sleep I have tiring dreams - I spent last night cleaning out rabbit hutches. I don't have a rabbit.....

What do you do before sleeping? I find that if I spend time doing something like searching on the computer then it affects my dreams. My brain needs something trivial like suduko or reading or tv to shut down if that makes sense. Hope you sleep better tonight.

Day is going a bit t!ts up with various issues, none of which I need to air, just deal with. Just having a cuppa and then I need to do a squash run and collect from driving range, at the same site, just different sides which will involve moving DS3 from range to court and DS1 home oh and a change of clothing and club to racket for DS3.

After spending some time in residential therapy, the last thing that is recommended is TV. Books and Music are fine, but TV/DVD apparently really muck up your sleeping patterns. Hot bath and a book!

In terms of waking up through the night, I use an I-Pod with a relaxation tape, or if that doesn't work I get up and clean. The worst is lying in bed thinking 'I can't get to sleep'.

Any screen is a bad thing... and yes, that includes the computer or laptop:(

Wise words. There is also the viewpoint that digging around in old stuff can do more harm than good and that if the dust has settled maybe it best left lying and not stirred up to make everybody wheeeeeezy

BD has taken over. After a great start to 2011 - great holiday and 2 productive flying days, I have crashed. Can't face mopping floors - I hate that job. Utility area (otherwise called covered passage between house and garage) has flooded due to blocked gutters. Dog is shedding same amount of hair when he was a proper collie - he just looks ridiculous at the moment. Grrrrrr

Hugs and a bit kick to get you moving. Nobody likes mopping floors, we all hate that job, especially when it is covered in pawprints before it is even dry. How long is it going to take you? You don't feel good sitting there not doing it so go get it done anyhow:D
