A big 'hello' to all the new people...hugs and spoons to anyone who needs one. Cannot keep up with the thread!

Just nipping in to update on my day....

1 x carload to the charity shop....but one carload back...:o Bought myself a beautiful writing bureau for not much money so that I can hide the contents of my desk away at the end of the day. So, it is flying, really...honest! Just needs a light rubdown and re-varnish, perhaps new knobs - not sure yet - and the leather pad needs renewing.

Have completely gutted the hallway, washed the floor - found some mould and peeling paper behind the shoe rack, so have relocated said shoe rack while paper dries out then I'll have a good look at what to do. (Condensation, I think - coldest wall of the house).
    Hallway is now beautiful...

As part of my new plan I'm spending 15 minutes a day tidying up DDs room - this is currently taking the form of a mega de-clutter. Today I managed to get rid of an extra table that was holding the doll's house and taking up space. Dolls house now on chest of drawers. Table going into the loft (naughty!) to await another trip to the charity shop.

I've Freecycled the children's sand pit and my sister's massage couch, neither of which have been used in the last two years. Just waiting for people to pick these up.

Tonight, I'm planning to look at my next project, which involves the dress fabric I bought at the weekend. The paper pattern is double-sided so I need to trace it off one side...that'll keep my busy for an hour or so!

And there's a glass of wine there for me somewhere, I just know it!

Hope everyone has a good evening...

    Take care
    D

Evening, done the work thang and home then tea then a quick hoover round the front room.

Manged to get two pans from Lidl today, I'm very pleased with then, just my size.

Anyone any ideas when we partially decorated the kitcen we took the small radiator out as it was right at the end of the galley kitchen underneath one of the two windows and didn't seem to be effective really.

However this winter the kitchen is really freezing unless of course the cooker is on but I don't want it on all the time...or need it on.

Has anyone any ideas of heating the kitchen please, there is no room for a radiator.

Bed made, hoovered hall and living room. Cleared fireplace. Feeling very smug:A

Unfortunately just remembered thank-you letters. Will try and do these in front of TV tonight.

    Looking forward to tomorrow.

Evening! I ended up going to the GP this morning having had enough of BD, panics, no sleep, etc. Very impressed as I phoned them at 8:40 and got a 9:50 appt. He was very good at listening to me and I now have little pink pills to go with the big green and yellow ones! Off work tomorrow as well but should be back on Weds. He did offer to sign me off for a week or 2 but not sure that would really be a good thing.
TAX Returns - reminders for those that need to to get doing...and be careful over any emails received about it, some are phishing ones per hmrc website.

MOAM - This is the first year I've had to do a tax return - do I get sent notification / information / the form, or do I have to sort it myself?

    rachelet - gentle hugs

    welcome to all newbies

    wilf - great news!

mollina - goodness! Glad you're back home now

LW - so pleased you and Mr LW had the day you wanted x

I'm having a lazy evening although I have washed up and done one wash load today.

Hopefully I'll have a better night's sleep and may do a little flying tomorrow!

  • a very busy day with chores, but not a single one from the list:D But all very good.

Car MOT'd and serviced, all paid for by monthly DD to savings account
ongoing major declutter of OH's stuff (the stuff of miracles):
    • a binbag full of shredded old bills etc
    • a large box of books to go to oxfam on wed
    • portable tv and bits arranged to be picked up for loacl charity shop by wonderful volunteer tomorrow.
I've finished off shelves I put up last week from bits of wood I have gradually collected from the streets: needed to make/saw/screw bookends.
WM load now drying on self fitted wall airers above radiator.
xmas decs box put in attic.
rubbish bags taken from dustbin to communal bin in next road.

Last year I had a professional declutter sort my attic; money very well spent as I didn't have the health to do it and it all seemed so overwhelming. We are capitalising on that now and able to create a very useful and organised storage space up there as we gradually declutter downstairs.(I mean the unneeded stuff got rid of and the rest stored we live in a very small space in the rest of the house)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

this is important: if you do not return your tax return (and any tax due) by 31st Jan you could be liable for a fine. It also is too late for a paper return, that deadline has passed.
The 31st Jan is the online deadline. And it takes a week to receive you online login once you apply for it online....so try and apply for it tomorrow online and you will beable to be on time.

    Hope that helps :)
