Another vote for healthy eating and doing more exercise.

Don't limit things either. I've still got chocolates left from Christmas. I'm eating healthy meals and have cut out snacking, but I'm still allowing myself two chocolates a day so I don't feel I'm missing out on the treats. I'm still losing weight and getting my choccy fix :D

Have you thought about an outdoor fitness bootcamp? I do one and I absolutely love it. You burn more calories working outside as the ground is uneven. Your muscles work harder as each step is different compared to working on gym machines where every step or movement is the same (although you can change resistance). Also your body has to cope with the weather conditions which means it works a bit harder too. The fresh air is good for you too.
Here I go again on my own....

I suppose Slim Fast works for some, I had a cracking idea that I'd have a month on it to kick start my diet, then switch to a full healthy eating plan. Problem was I couldn't stand the taste of it :/

Op , i have been having a slim fast shake for breakfast , one for lunch and a proper dinner . I am also drinking 8 glasses of water per day and so far (this is only day 6) I have lost 10lbs .

I'm sorry, but that is not a healthy or sustainable weight loss.

I would recommend slim fast , even if only for that initial kick start to weight loss.
    That's impressive!

  • I think different things work for different people ;) Short term most things prob work but long term you'll totally have to change your lifestyle. You need to work out which one you want first. For me I cut out sugary food totally, ate healthy and exercised. The weight dropped off and I'm now 3 stone lighter and have maintained it. Good luck in whatever you choose :)

What kind of results are you finding with the celebrity slim Angel-Jenny ?

I had seen it advertised. Whats the prices etc ? Have you lost much weight?

I have been on it about 8 days and have lost 6 pounds. Most of that will be water though as I have also upped the number of drinks I have as the diet requires you to drink 2 litres of water a day.

It is about £33 for ten days of shakes but I still think it is cheaper that buying a sandwich and a packet of crisps for lunch every day.

It seems to fill me up more than slim fast and I don't get hungry on it. Plus I am getting used to smaller portions.
  • If this is worth anything - I would like to recomment Rosemary Conley - I lost 2 and a half stone in 4 months and I found it easy and structured, having struggled all my life!
  • I used to work in a very busy retail job, and didn't have time to take proper lunch breaks. I drank slim fast for breakfast and lunch for a few months, and dropped from a size 12 to a size 8.

As soon I stopped drinking slim fast (after a while, it actually made me heave and I couldn't physically drink it) I put all the weight back on.

I used to have slim fast as a substitute for breakfast when my ds2 was small and i found I was regularly skipping breakfast. I liked to have it hot (preferably the vanilla flavour) and used half full fat milk and half boiling water to make it and I have to say I liked it like that but couldn't bear it cold. I never lost any weight though so I wouldn't rate it for that purpose as I don't think it is healthy to restrict the diet that much. Plus I was generally starving by 11am so could never go through till lunchtime, I have since switched to fruit for breakfast on the go and it fills me up better and frankly is cheaper and even more convenient.

Learn about healthy eating and moderation instead, it will take long for the weight to come off but you'll be better off in the long-term and will not leave yourself open to the influence of parasites like slimming world, watch watchers, slim-fast etc (I mean... look at the threads here people yo-yo in weight as they move from crank diet to crank diet).
