Slim fast

  • I like the cans of slimfast as an easy meal if I'm out and grabbing something else isn't easy. I don't see it as a weight loss plan though.

I did lose nearly 2 stone with Slimfast about 4 years ago, it stayed off for 3 years until I stopped smoking when I put on about 12 pounds which Im now trying to shift. I got used to the taste of the shakes and would have them for breakfast and lunch but I used to snack on a lot of fruit and salad in between meals and make sure I always had a big healthy dinner in the evenings. I didn't follow it too closely as I still wanted to enjoy a social life (and my food!) but it took me about 3 months to lose the weight which I thought was a decent rate of loss and not too fast so therefore more likely to stay off.

Having tried Slimfast again recently the only shake I really like the taste of is the coffee ready made one (which is often on special offer in Boots, Tesco, Superdrug etc) like earlier posters I would only really use it now as a very short term fix, when Im in a rush or don't really fancy a proper meal. Whereas when I did it before I quite liked the other flavour shakes and the ones you make yourself now I find them really really disgusting!

Also for around 210 calories per shake instead you could have a bowl of cereal and some fruit, or some homemade vegetable soup and a slice of bread - basically healthier, cheaper and more natural food.

But four years ago it did work for me so I wouldn't knock it completely ;)

All diet products and companies are the same; they pray on people's weaknesses and insecurities (i.e being overweight) and fleece them for money in return.

Why not motivate each other, have NO junk food in the house, do exercise together every day (walks, play frisbee, go to gym, walk dog etc...), eat normal sized portions, and cook healthy food?

Oh, and stick a photo you hate on the fridge so that you are less tempted to snack!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Be prepared for him to lose more and faster than you - even if you work harder too - it's one of those really annoying facts of life than men seem to lose weight quicker

So not true LOL Biggest Loser USA did one where they had a mans team vs womans team. They took 1 woman over to them mans team and one man to the womans team. The woman lost as much or more in the mans team as she was working as hard as the men rather than just thinking she was.

I better go hide now ;-)

  • Op , i have been having a slim fast shake for breakfast , one for lunch and a proper dinner . I am also drinking 8 glasses of water per day and so far (this is only day 6) I have lost 10lbs !

I would recommend slim fast , even if only for that initial kick start to weight loss.

I tried Slim Fast but got hungry so quickly. I thought perhaps it was just that I wasn't suited to meal replacement plans but I really like Celebrity Slim now. Lots of flavours and easy to follow. I don't get hungry but you do have to drink 2 litres of water.
  • What kind of results are you finding with the celebrity slim Angel-Jenny ?

I had seen it advertised. Whats the prices etc ? Have you lost much weight?

If you want to "lose" weight (loose is what your trousers will be after you lose weight) better do it by changing your eating habits.

    I did it with WeightWatchers.
