  • No I am still here, trying to make some sense of my hair. The interview would have to be before my haircut on Thursday :( Oh well....

I am leaving at 10.30 - it is only a short distance away.
    Thanks for your support

  • Hi, I've just spent a few hours reading back through your diary...I know where you are coming from with exes, I still can't resist having a little peek at mine. I hope your job interview went well and offers you all you want...off to subscribe now :)

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time
  • Morning to all my lovely friends, new and old ..

    I GOT THE JOB

    :grin::grin::grin::grin:
The interview went well. I was very brave and said that I HAD to have an hour for lunch (instead of 30mins) so that I can get home and walk MrT. I told them of my HA training dates in March and I wondered if I had shot myself in the foot. But... the call came at 7pm last night - All Systems Go :) I am employable, after all.

I start a week on Monday but they have given me a bit of flexibility on that so that I can work my finances out and try to eek my cash out until the first payday which will be 5 WEEKS later...

Any suggestions anyone? I am not on a means tested benefit so I can't apply for any loans, there is no sub available - what the heck do I do? And of course I will have to find the money for petrol as well to go back and forth. HELP :( David Cameron and Ian Duncan Smith, if you are reading this by any chance perhaps you can suggest a way out of this dilemma because I bet there are an awful lot more people like me facing this. Feel free to subscribe, the more the merrier I am sure a few of us will be happy to offer our advice to you in return. ;)

sw - I will bake some chocolate muffins to celebrate - I will send you a virtual cake and think of you as I scoff them :bdaycake:

colleenpat - Welcome, a few hours to read my diary, Crikey! Thanks and please stick around, there are lots of lovely peeps on here. I got an extext yesterday - I think he is always going to be in the background somewhere but at arms length is much safer for my sanity and bank balance...

It is raining today, but much milder. MrT hates puddle hopping but he is going to have to brave it as I am off to a HA training session for a few hours.
I signed up yesterday to be a mystery shopper with a couple of companies - I even passed the written tests. Hooray, those years weren't wasted at the crusty old grammar school.

I will update you all later on how things go today. I want to meet up with one of the finance team at the HA and see if they can cut me some slack with my rent? If I am upfront and honest they just might agre to me holding it off. If not I might have to leapfrog and go to the top man who I get on with like a house on fire. He's hunky too...:o

Enough of that, Speak to you all soon. Have a good day - and thank you all so much for your lovely messages and support. You are all stars.

  • Hooray!!!! well done and a proper lunch hour too. About time, things are most certainly on the up.

At present i have £15 to last till Monday when i get paid. I am finishing off things in store cupboards and the freezer. Can you offer to do people's ironing for money? or sell some of your lovely cakes? I bet people would pay? does that sound silly sorry, i dont know what else to suggest. A clever person will be along soon.

Do enjoy the HA training course, hope you can re-negotiate HA payment and most important, well done on keeping ex at arms length - certainly do not send him any money. Do enjoy walk with Mr T it is raining pretty badly outside here. I must do some marking today. I will be good.... who am i convincing????

Hey well done, congratulations on getting the job :j

Why don't you ring Working Tax Credits and explain situation to them? You may qualify for some money immediately.
