It was not the Manager then

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Liverpool just aren't a big club these days. Take out Gerrard and Torres and you're left with a desperately average side, a lot of it courtesy of big Rafa.
Shame to see Roy go really, we'll see how Dalglish gets on. Although really, the problem seems to be more deep rooted than the manager, you've got 3 or 4 decent players, none of which is performing very well and the others are just deeply average. And if you can't motivate a bunch of millionaire footballers to make some effort when playing the game they're supposed to love, then swapping the manager out won't make much difference.
4 point above the drop zone then, interesting times ahead.0 -

You mean WOY surely
Seemed like a nice chap, handed the poisoned chalice that is liverpool management with a bunch of gimmer no hopers to try and shephard through the trials of the premiership.
Doubt Dalglish will do any better, hes already proved that management stresses the f**k out of him. A couple more defeats and he'll probably rush out onto the pitch and shoot himself in front of the Kop.
I'll have a crack to be fair, I can give a motivational team talk and pick a team and some tactics. Then when it all slides into the relegation zone, I'll just get the sack, take my money and start up at another club and be rubbish there too.
Seems to me that once you've managed one top flight team, you're set for life with football management, no matter how rubbish you are. Hence why Mick "Oh we're so awful, we won't win, I'll just put out a second rate team" McCarthy is somehow, inexplicably still in charge of a top flight team.
Also good to see Mr Houlier doing a sterling job at Villa too, ha ha. Perhaps the rot really set in at Liverpool in the last couple of seasons of Houliers tenancy, prior to bringing in the wonderful Benitez who neatly sunk the team then !!!!!!ed off abroad to wreck Inter.0 -

Who would have thought someone who hadn't managed in ten years mightn't be as good at it these days? I'm truly shocked.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0
