I might be an August 2012 bride, but not sure yet - it's looking like being either 18th August or 1st September! I'm ridiculously excited that we've narrowed it down that much, think what I'll be like when it's confirmed! :rotfl:
What's your date Tiara?Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

I shall hopefully be an August bride too! we're hoping for 9th August, if all goes to plan, and we can save up enough moneyEmily Sophia arrived 11 days early on 26/8/10 at 16:43 weighing 6lbs6oz0

Hello ladies
White_Sapphire- good luck with picking the date. I guess we were lucky in a strange way, as our venue only had one date left in 2012, so it was grab that or wait til 2013! Ours is August 25th! :j It is a very exciting feeling indeed to have finally set a date!
Hi Munch_jgGood luck with the saving. I see you're based in Oxfordshire, whereabouts are you thinking of getting married? I'm an Oxford gal too

Bicester as that's where i live, we looked into surrounding areas but with the amount of family i have (and they all live here!) we figured it was just easier, i'm looking at church wedding and hiring a social club after, not my ideal wedding, i always wanted a fancy country house and sit down meal but having all my family there is much more important to meEmily Sophia arrived 11 days early on 26/8/10 at 16:43 weighing 6lbs6oz0

Eeeeeee hello Jellybean, my date twin!! How exciting is that?! We didn't actually realise it was a Bank Holiday weekend til after we'd booked it
It was the next available date that our venue had, and also was the only date they had in 2012 so we just grabbed it! I'm hoping being on a bank holiday won't make things like the photographer dearer
Are you going to scare me now by saying you've got a million and one things sorted?! I have only booked the church and the venue, and possibly the entertainment! Soooo much left to do!jellybean08 wrote: »Ooh Tiara I'm 25th as well, wanted to go for the bank holiday weekend.0 -
I haven't got much done to be honest. I was full steam ahead when he proposed then I couldn't be bothered really lol. Now that it's next year I'll start planning again. I haven't found that anything is more expensive so far but only booked the photographer and band as well as the venue. Don't know what to do next, maybe a budget and a mood board and all that kind of stuff. I know I definately want a relaxed, beachy, turquoise and white theme, other than that........
oh and I've started with the diet-18 months seems a good amount of time to slim :jbest get exercising :jWeight loss 2015: -4lbs January (thanks flu):wall:

Hi Brides to be!!! So glad I found this thread! I got engaged the day before Christmas Eve 2010 and we have decided on an August 2012 wedding. We definitely need that long to save, I had no idea how much weddings cost! We're looking at venues now and I have my heart set on The Clumber Park Hotel in Notts, should cost around £10,000ish as I have a big family so already we have about 120 people for the day bit itself. Any advice, hints and tips would be gratefully appreciated.
I've just joined MSE today and need all the help I can get to raise the £10,000 needed - I could do with winning the lottery really!!!

Hi unoriginal_uk, welcome to our August threadunoriginal_uk wrote: »I'm August 2012 as wellalthough only just started planning! Have only looked at a couple of venues so far, in Surrey. We're hopefully thinking Friday the 10th!
Ooooh another date twin, looks like 25th is going to be a popular one! :j:j Very reassuring to know I'm not the only one with all the planning left to goWe're August 25th next year too! Booked reception venue but nothing else.
Hi Coral-bride-to-be, welcome to our August 2012 threadYes the financial side is a tad daunting isn't it! I would suggest you work out a budget, there are some useful threads about it here. What I did was to work out how much you can comfortably save each month between now and then, and factor in any money that your families may want to contribute. I then allocated that money and set budgets for how much I could afford on the church/venue/stationery/dress/suit/flowers/cake/decorations/bridesmaids dresses/entertainment etc. There are some very helpful threads here about budgetting, definitely worth a look
