Buyer deciding to ask where item is, after 1 month!

I always firstly assume buyers are lying, cos its so easy to get a refund and get away with it! Most buyers I know aren't dishonest, but some are. I just don't understand how parcels get lost.. And.....I have myself had a few items never received, and I hate asking for refunds etc, sometimes I even haven't if it was just a 99p auction, as I know its not the sellers fault, so generally I am treating my buyers like I'd be treated, as I often think that my sellers think I'm lying too.
So you can't understand how the ones you post go missing, but yet they reguarly get lost on the way to you?0 -
I bought something on eBay once, but then went and bought something similar in a shop, duh! I forgot all about the one I bought on eBay, as somehow my brain thought the one I had just bought in the shop *was* the one from eBay... (it was a busy time!! lol)
Anyway, I was looking through my eBay one day and realised I had bought it and it had never arrived (and because I had the duplicate I never noticed) - I messaged the seller and explained and they too seemed annoyed at me - oops!

And I quote, I said a 'few' items I've bought have never arrived, I never said it happens regularly, I can count it one hand, and that is in the 8 or so years I've been an ebayer. On the other hand, I have refunded much more than that, and it annoys me, that after posting, and retaining proof, that buyers can very easily state its never arrived, which is very possible and RM's fault, but I do my side of the bargain so it gets me cross that honest sellers have to refund because of the errors of a 3rd party. I feel that's a genuine situation that is ok to be cross with, as its not my fault. Not buyers fault either, but I think the policy should be changed to make it fair for both parties.0 -

The policy for INR is fair for both buyers and sellers.
Buy an item and if the seller cannot prove delivery you are protected.
Sell an item and if you can prove delivery you are protected.
If you are selling items which are seen as 'usually scammed' then you need to either claim from your COP if the item goes missing, or to send via a trackable method.0 -

Agree with everyone else. It does happen legitimately - I would be giving you a neg if you came back to me openly stating after a month of me waiting patiently that you thought I was lying. Someone has paid for something and they haven't got it after a month - that's not on. Most scammers launch claims very early on in the process - when they receive an untracked item, for instance. Very few would wait a whole month.
If you have a lot of trouble with INRs as a seller, then there might be something up with your post or you could look at how you address things; if it's only a few items that go missing, then there might not be a pressing problem at your end, but this should really be treated at face value if you value your feedback in any way.

Since when has proof of postage meant item has been safely received.
You said yourself that you have not received things as a buyer..so you are contradicting yourself.
Last year I bought something large from Boots online, it was sent and it never arrived..that was £100+ item, they gave me despatch details and of course they ended up refunding me, but are you saying i should have just said 'Oh well, i'll just write it off then?'.

Proof of posting is just that. Not proof of delivery.
As the sender has the contract with Royal Mail, the buyer would always lose out if an item went missing in this situation as it is only the sender who can claim their money back.
I would be interested in how you would make the system more fair.0 -
I am awaiting delivery of two items that i purchased nearly a month ago, i emailed them yesterday to ask if they have sent the items and if so what service.
My items are from Honk Kong mind, and only cost me £2.35 each so i'm not to worried but i really do need them as i need to fix my laptop.
Not everyone lies, and you as a seller should protect yourself when i sell on ebay i only send via royal mail special delivery now, i will not post outside of the uk if the item is not worth sending special delivery or i am willing to take a risk only then will i send via any postal service.0
