Kitchen tomorrow as well how exciting/torturous. I loved having a mini kitchenette in my living room as I could make a cuppa without leaving the sofa

Have a lasy night tonight, watch something funny, glass of wine/tea, little treat to eat and look after yourself :j

    *hugs*

Don't do what I did and wash up in the bath - nearly impossible hanging over the sides in shallow water - keep a bowl out!

Glad to hear you are feeling positive about getting over the bf, but be gentle with yourself for a little while, and cut yourself some slack. Enjoy watching your kitchen take shape and focus on getting excited about that.

    Thanks guys.

I've kept out some plastic picnic plates and bowls, so thought I'd wash up in the kitchen basin. Either that, or in a bowl on (not in!!) the toilet.

Kitchen is all set, just one or two things to do in the morning.

Guess what! I have an interview to be a volunteer in the Protocol department at the Olympics! It's probably going to involve escorting foreign dignitaries around. It's because I speak Indonesian... although I haven't spoken it for 13 years, since I moved over here. However it still should be good enough for 'meet and greet', and I've got a year to get up to speed again, and an Indonesian friend in Paris to practice with!

The biggest problem is that my knock 'em dead interview suit only fits me when I weigh 56kg. I weight 58.5kg at the moment... I've got 6 weeks to lose 2.5kg!!

Well, it's been an OK week, no disasters, but not hugely MS either. But feeling quite low this weekend - very tired and emotionally drained because of the breakup, and hating not having a kitchen!

My builder rang me today to say he'd forgotten about Monday being a bank holiday, so could he come and crack on with the work anyway? I really don't want him too, but I want to prolong the pain even less, so I've said fine!

However, a good friend has invited me over to her place for dinner tomorrow - I think she said she'd cook a roast! I can't wait to get a decent meal home cooked meal rather than the scratch ones I've been making with my minimal resources.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind thoughts. Kitchen fitter is in doing his thing, and I've spent the morning researching MSDN Licensing (!) for another article, so am just sitting down to write it. Couldn't resist coming on and having a peek here first, though!

I think I will have actually pulled the short straw with the Olympics stuff, because there is no guarantee you will be able to see events even if you get tickets for them (still waiting for my tickets, too, grump grump). The volunteers for the protocol section will be doing things like driving dignitaries around and acting as their PAs, so quite high pressured and it won't be fixed shifts - if something you are doing goes over your knock-off time, then tough!

However it will be great to be working in such a highly professional environment - a fantastic experience, and meeting all sorts of different people. And I'm just so excited at the thought of using my Indonesian again. I have to get through the interview first though. It's on the 2nd July.

The roast at my friend's place was lovely, and we sat talking until it was dark, and then I walked down the hill home, so it was a really pleasant evening.

I might jump on the train if they are running and head out to box hill for a bit of a walk later.

Well, didn't get down to box hill, but I did write my article... which turned into two. Yay!

AND it's rained. Yippeeeeee! I don't need to water the garden until Wednesday, when hopefully the tap will be working again.

The kitchen is really starting to take shape now. I'm so relieved. The kitchen fitter hopes to be done by Thursday, fingers crossed!

I had a sweet potato for dinner tonight! Yes, you did read that correctly, I had a single sweet potato! It was left overs from the roast last night. It's all yummy and squishy. I lost track of time and had a very late lunch, so I'm not really hungry. However I have to go out tonight, so decided I'd better eat something.

    Have a good week, everyone.
