THE KITCHEN IS FINISHED!!!!!!
It's brilliant, I love it! There are one or two things that need to be finished off, and then it needs painting, and then it's on to the bathroom. Being without a kitchen for two weeks made me realise that being without a bathroom for any length of time in winter would be just miserable, so I've decided to crack on with it immediately rather than wait until later in the year. I have the money, so it isn't a problem to get started on it straight away.
It's been such a beautiful day here... my cherries are ripening so I have garlanded the cherry tree with spare material to try and discourage the birds from stealing them. The first raspberries are turning pink too! So exciting.
Everything else is growing slowly. I'm very jealous of my neighbour's bean plants, which are flowering (!) while mine all only have about 4 leaves... but I know they'll be very productive in a month or so.
I'm so tired at the moment - it's been quite an emotional couple of weeks, and work has also been fairly stressful. I've got a two week holiday planned for the beginning of July, so I have that to look forward to, thank goodness!Borrowed £150,000 in an offset tracker mortgage in May 2007 - MFD May 2041 (67)

So sorry to hear about you and your partner - sending *hugs* your way. Fab news about the kitchen though! :j I had my bathroom done during August last year and even with my Mum just being around the corner it was still a pain. Luckily the loo was connected up first which made things a bit easier
I think you're definately right to get it done while the weathers warm as you'll probably be without water for most of the time during the day so central heating will be a no-go...in fact it'll be even better if you can get it done while you're out at work and not in the holidays like I did - lol!
Take care,

Thanks guys... I've got white gloss cupboards and a grey speckled benchtop... sadly not granite, just laminate
I still have to get the walls painted - cream - and I got them to relay the old vinyl, so once the bathroom is sorted I'll get the floor done in both rooms together.
Toughened glass splashbacks - blue.
Hmmm, piccies... I'm not that technologically competent. What do you think I am? an IT professional?!
I'll try, but it will probably be next week now.Borrowed £150,000 in an offset tracker mortgage in May 2007 - MFD May 2041 (67)

Have just done my monthly accounts... they are looking pretty ugly because I've decided to reduce the amount I put on my visa each month (it gets paid off in full, don't worry!!) and make payments from my current account. In fact, allowing for this I think I've done pretty well this month, particularly as it included vets bills!
Mortgage free date still May 2035but it's a bit unrealistic to hope that one month will make much of a difference!!
Not much else to report except that I seem to have got back together with the boyfriend... yay!! I got a text from him admitting it was a 'mistake' to end our relationship, and we've been talking a fair bit over the last week. Had a heated argument on Friday night, but nothing too serious, and we made up yesterday. We really struggle to co-ordinate our diaries - it's been an issue the whole way through the relationship, so we'll have to careful to be very clear with each other. I tend to make assumptions that we've made a firm arrangement, while he tends not to tell me about stuff he's doing that he thinks I might not like. These things are never easy, are they?!
He's funny though, every time I make a comment about being 'dumped' he corrects me... apparently being dumped means we would never have spoken again, where as what he did was 'end the relationship'. Sounds like semantics to me!!!
