Babyboots- I think its Additional Passenger Information, you need to give info from the passport in advance to get entry into some countries (I think thats what its for anyway).

Ghostlove- Im not too sure. Any news yet on your ohs passport?

Nope, and they told us that we should hear by three weeks about when his interview would be. It was five weeks on Friday. Not impressed, I'll be phoning them tomorrow!
I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Sorry GL I can't help with organisations you should notify. Perhaps google? I'm notifying everyone cause I'm changing my name :T. You could always phone up the relevant people and ask them if they need telling?

Not sure GL either. I, too would google I'm looking forward to being a Mrs!

Emma we have booked a hotel at Gatwick for the Saturday night. So the plan is marry on Friday, breakfast with family and friends, home with kids, pack last minute bits for hm, go to airport about 4ish, pop in see H2B parents, food in Guildford ( I fancy Jamie Oliver's place) then we fly on Sunday midday. Our flight times have been put back an hour! It is annoying isn't it.

Soo Soo close Natalie. I am loving seeing the first bridal pics on fb!!

I don't think you need to tell anyone if you are not changing your name? I haven't made any plans to tell anyone official.

I'm still undecided on the name thing, I definitely want to keep my own name somewhere in the equation (really don't like his!) but want something that shows that I'm married - Dunno whether to be Mrs Maidenname but is that a bit wierd? Also it's my mum's name lol!

It's so lovely seeing everyone's photo's starting to pop up - just think, not long left of July now and then we'll all be able to show off our photos! Natalie, you are next :D and you get to show off twice! We haven't seen workinginoz for a while have we?

We went to the pub where we are having our reception today and by a stroke of luck the marquee lady was there - the owner spotted up as soon as we walked in and kidnapped us to take us to meet her, she was telling us that it's a proper timber flooring that will be in there which I'm a bit relieved about - I did have visions of puddles seeping up through the floor lol!

Such a shame about your OH's parents Mel - definitely pop in and see them. Shaun's grandparents are too ill to travel down here to be at the wedding so we are going to ring them as soon as we can after the ceremony to say hello.

Can't believe both your flight times have been changed, how rubbish? I don't see how they can do that, people pick their flights based on the times they can make, where do they get off changing them like that and not even informing people?

    xx

Well I'm staying Ms MyName, but if I was going to change at all I'd be Ms HisName because it's very important to me that my name does not immediately give away my marital status. It's not relevant when you meet a man (Mr doesn't show whether he's married or not) so it shouldn't be relevant when you meet a woman, you know? That all said, I see no problem with Mrs MaidenName if you want something that clearly shows your marital status without having a last name you dislike!

I just realised I answered a question that nobody asked, there. I apologise, I know nobody wants a debate on names, and neither do I! :D

Haha no I think that's fair enough! I can see the point actually! I think someone needs to start a revival of 'Master' for unmarried men hahaha!!

To be honest I don't think it will matter that much whether I end up going with Miss or Mrs... the kids at school will still call me "Miiiiiissssssss...."

Ha ha! I agree with you ghostlove - I shall be a Mrs in family matters, and continue to be a Ms in public! I once bought a laundry basket in John Lewis, and they wanted to take my name, so I could collect it from the other end of the store. I gave them my surname, and they asked if that was Mrs or Miss! I said, that has nothing to do with buying a laundry basket; I'll be the only person of that surname waiting for a laundry bin!

I'm guessing the people that might want to know you're married are:
HMRC - may affect some tax issues?
Insurances - life, house, car, medical? I'm not sure if you're obliged to tell your house and car insurer, but it may change their next quote (my OH's car insurance went down when he stated he had a 'partner' - makes him seem more reliable??)
Employer - you might be entitled to benefits for your OH and vice versa (maybe healthcare, pension etc)
    Pension provider too?
Bank and Mortgage company? I guess on marriage, your OH becomes entitled to your house if you die first and vice versa, so that's relevant to the mortgage company?
That's all I can think of. Like MrsDrink says, I'm changing my surname, so my list is a lot longer. I guess if you ring some of the above, they might say 'so what?'

Whats really annoy is when we first booked it last May time the flight was 9am, August they wrote to us to say it had changed to 7am and now on the tickets is has 10am but they havent actually written to us to notifiy us of the change.

I feel in the minority a bit but I actually cant wait to be a Mrs and take on my ohs name!

Ghostlove- 5 weeks  I thought you would have at least heard by now- they must be mega busy!

Well weve sent the dj our song request list- including a first dance song!! We werent going to have one but then thought of a song (well oh agreed to a song that I wanted ages ago:rotfl:), and we attempted a practice yesterday but was too busy laughing!! It sums me and oh up!
