Hey everyone
Congratulations on your wedding Sweetilemon, I would love to hear more about your days- do you have any last minute tips for us who are still waiting for out big day?
COngratulations to all who got married today.
Melanie- hope your feeling better soon, I felt crappy last week, but am hoping that its all all the way now.
Buttons- they are lovely, would be a perfect size and colour, but they are more like a pearl bead with a hole in them- theres nothing for the loop of the dress to sit under, so the search continues. I went to another shop today and they had some buttons that would be the perfect size, and they had a proper shank, but I didnt really like them! (but if I cannot get anything else they would be ok), but they were so helpful in the shop and told me that in the city I work theres an industrial estate with a shop on that sell thousands of buttons- so i plan on going there Monday after work.
I had my make up trial. Its someone who we have known for years and she did my mum and sisters make up for their weddings. She was so good, she did a part then showed me, if I didnt like it or wanted more then she amended it and just did it step by step. I told her I had worries about blusher but she did most the make up then added just a bit- and it was fine. So thats another tick off the list.
Oh and I went to asda today, got the rest of the thank you cards (just plain thank you cards) and some nice wrap, and we got some bottles for our welcome drink. and we got 2 glass jars for our sweetie table, so I just need to get some little glass bowls for the tables. I did also get 2 little golf sets (a bargain at £2.50 each) which I thought could be played with in the patio area whilst people are waiting for me and oh to arrive (as we will be going off for a few photos between the ceremony and the food)
I made oh sort out what he needed today for honeymoon so we can go into town tomorrow to pick up some bits. I did manage to get a lovely tankini in asda today so Im pretty much sorted for honeymoon bits now, think ill probably pack next weekend while oh is at work (he just doesnt understand why I need so much stuff so its easier to pack whilst he isnt about!!:rotfl:)
:j to peoples who are picking up their dresses soon.0 -
Will you be wearing lipstick Emma? A little trick for if you don't want to go mad with blusher is to apply your lippy, tap your fingers on it, smile, then tap your fingers on to your cheeks - gives you a tiny flush of colour that doesn't look too 'out there' because it matches the colour on your lips.
I've had my final hair colour done, made my wedding card box thing, had confirmation back from all service suppliers that everything is as it should be, and we went out today and bought presents for parents and everyone. The money has gone out of my account for the cake so that must mean it's in the oven lol.
Not much left to do now - I am going to sit down tomorrow morning and write myself a week planner - hard to believe that this time next week I'll be partying away as a Mrs!
Aww and I got a lovely card from work - they clubbed together and put in £100 as a present as well which I was so shocked at! It's going straight in the honeymoon pot, bless them!
Although - what do you do with wedding cards? Do you put them up in the house, like birthday cards? Feels weird because we are not married yet!

Evening Ladies!! Well I have had a really lovely but very manic day.
Firstly we dashed off to my hair dressers. I am now the owner of shocking red hair again - I absolutely love it. I'm a really pale cool toned girl, and the red in my hair really brings out any pinkness in my skin - it makes me look less washed out. Love it. And it's all cut off again (to about chin length with loads of short layers in the back) Love it. Then we had a little bit of shopping in town. I got a 3/4 length ivory bolero from Monsoon - reduced twice in the sale down to £18, and on the internet this morning they only had size XL left. Very pleased! I also got a summer dress from fat face in their sale. So because of the shopping we were running a bit late, mad dash to my mum's to collect my dress - cannot believe I have the dress upstairs. Seeing my hair and getting my dress is making me finally feel excited. I'm sat here with small butterflies just thinking that above my head is my dress!! Anyway because we were running late we didn't get time for tea before we had to get to the spa hotel for our beauty treatments. We had pedicures, manicures, and a salt body scrub. My skin feels sooo soft and lovely. Mainly had the nails done for shape and to get rid of cuticles - I wasn't really fussed about the colour - thinking whatever I'd probably remove it and then just put a clear coat on for the day. BUT I have a nude colour (you can still see my white tip though in) and I love it. So now I have to keep my nails safe for photos on Tuesday. They are very much 'me' nails - they look natural... no offense intended but I'm not a big fan of french manicures partly because they are so common (eeek wonder how many of you I'm insulting here sorry) and also because they don't look real. Anyway - after that we came to our house, had a bit of a sit down and a chit chat (which we'd been doing all day) for about an hour and half, before we had to get ready to go to my fave restaurant for tea. Which was delicious!!
I feel very pampered. I can't believe the next time I see my CBMIIWHO I will be married!!

Ooh, how exciting that you're next MrsDrink! Ha ha, I'm a french manicure girl, and I'm not offended - it's just a matter of personal taste, isn't it? I have really strong nails, which my beautician loves painting french - hope I don't break any before the wedding. I've already given up on the mass of weeds and overgrown bits that is the garden - I'll tackle it after the honeymoon, and try and avoid forearm scratches and broken nails for now!
Glad you had a lovely day - your hair sounds fab. All the talk of hair-doing and pampering is making me feel very excited.:j
PinkPrincess - the button hunt continues - hope you find some on Monday. I swear it's the tiny things that cause us so much trouble (for me it's been place cards, gift boxes for ushers and table sparkles - pathetic peripheral things to spend time on!)
We have three wedding cards up on our mantelpiece. I took down the wedding acceptance/regret cards when the first one arrived on Thursday
I was going to just get everyone to put cards on a table at the venue, but all you lot talking about post boxes means I've made a token effort! I've taken a pretty cardboard box I already have, and attached a luggage tag, which says 'CARDS.' not the most creative of efforts, but I'm sure it will suffice. It's boxed up with the other bits I'm taking to the venue tomorrow.0 -
Woohoo I'm married.
Had a lovely day, was really lucky with the weather as it stayed dry all day just after the steam train rides had finished and the bouncy castle had been packed away it started raining.
The only thing that didn't go to plan was the m40 being shut which delayed some of our guests, but they all made it there in the end.
Good luck to all the rest of the July brides

Congratulations BM!! :T SOOOO pleased the weather behaved itself for you. We've had relatively good weather (compared to June and the beginning of July, not compared to a typical summer) the last few days, and we've woken this morning to patchy blue skies. I'm seriously hoping it lasts till next Saturday :rotfl:. I've been very much uncaring about the weather on Tuesday our ceremony day, only really focusing on the Saturday, our party day. But now I've got bright red hair I really want a bit of sun to make it really sparkle in the photos!! Argh!
Well my sore throat has come out properly now. I woke myself up at around 5 this morning by swallowing! Ouch!! So I'm now sucking on all the throat sweets I can get my hands on :rotfl:.
PS I *still* haven't had a peek at my dress even though it's now upstairs in the office!!0 -
Ooops just got carried away reading everyone's updates and almost made myself late for my bus
Congrats BM ... So glad you had a lovely day
Good luck MrsDrink forTuesday.
I have had a look on accu weather (i did tell myself i wouldnt until closer) looks ok so far but have bookmarked it to go back next week.
I am not superstitious as such but please don't rain today it is st swithens day :rotfl:£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -
I can't believe my wedding is sooo close!!
:T:eek:
I have just filled in a form with HMRC to change my name with the inland revenue.(It can be done in advance online if anyone else is interested https://online.hmrc.gov.uk/shortforms/form/PAYENICoC?dept-name=PAYENI&sub-dept-name=COC&location=44&origin=http://www.hmrc.gov.uk).

Congratulations Mrs Biscuitmad! :j
Hope you're soon feeling better too, MrsDrink.
We're off to our venue today to drop off two boxes of wedding stuff, my "old & dirty" sign and the table plan. We have a tiny house, so that will leave some much-needed space for packing! :j0
