I don't have a particular colour in mind. Ideally, it would be purple or black, but I don't mind if it isn't. I asked her if she had any 'requirements' and she came up with this list: around knee length, a fitted waist, not too high a neckline but not too low either, absolutely not strapless and a back that will cover a bra so I can wear a normal one. She said she's not too bothered about any of that apart from the bra part, so it needs to have straps and a back that covers a bra.
I thought that would be easy, but everything I've found is either a really low back, or strapless, or a back shape that wouldn't hide a bra, or is super short. When did dresses get so short? I'm only 25, but I feel so old looking at all the dresses in these shops.
SO.. I guess I'm looking for an ideally purple or black dress, that is about knee length, not strapless, and will hide a bra. That will 'go' with my dress (which is like a lace overlay). :think:Quick question: how far in advance should you send out your invites? Ours aren't ready yet - should be next week, is that really late?
Ours won't be done until the first week of May, and that's for July 21st. Might be a bit later, depends how it goes organising timings with the venue. We have sent out save the dates though so I'm not worrying!0 -

I will have a look for a dress for you and I'm sure that there will be others along to help soon too!
We did STDs too, but didn't get to send/give them to all guests as we didn't know some of their addresses! Lol. I think that we've verbally STD'd everyone though, so I'm not *too* worried!7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

OK, are any of these the kind of style that your BM is after? I love Lizzie Agnew, her dresses are so ladylike. We could try to find you a cheaper alternative if your BM chooses a style here x

Just a quick 'popping my head in to say hi before whisking off again' post.
Had a busy busy busy day at work. Some good, some most definitely not so good. Still what's the saying, what was sent to try us? Summink like that.
Lol and you just KNOW my to do list is enormous. But then I've been adding on everything I have to do between now and the wedding including normal non-wedding stuff. My theory is if it's on the list then I can't double book anything and also I can be sure everything is spread out nicely so I don't have a last minute rush on. I currently have 127 'things' to do on my list :T Love it. Cause it means I can enjoy crossing things off!! The next thing for me to cross off is a meal out with my mum at the weekend for her birthday :T0 -
Oh and smithkinson (Sorry can't remember if you've given us your 'real' name), have you looked at alfred angelo bridesmaids dresses? Off the top of my head (from when I was considering getting a bridesmaids dress in ivory/white as my wedding dress I *think* they may have some that meets your requirements.0

Wanchai- well done on maintaining, your doing fab. Invites- its up to you, personally I think sooner rather than later.
Smithkinson- what kind of material/ finish do you want? budget? size?
Well Ive been to the gym (so Natalie you can speak to me!!:rotfl:), and we were very close to not going, as oh didnt want to, but as I was deciding whether to get in the lane to go home or the lane for the gym we decided we would go and actually had a good workout, Im shattered now though!! Ive also been ok foodwise today, I really need to get back on track or Ill put all the weight ive lost back on by July!!
I also have a bit of dilemma about my dress alterations. Well the work lady I am now booked in with has been off sick for a few weeks now and is off for at least one more week, so Im starting to try and get a back up plan and get an idea of where else I can take it!0 -
Well done Emma!!!! I'm very proud of you going to the gym:D Hope you get your dress alterations sorted.
I am very happy to have maintained, but need to see a loss every week from here on in! I am determined to be as close to 9st as possible by July. I'm starting to do weights every evening to tone up my arms as well7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Thanks for your suggestions. I looked at getting an Alfred Angelo BM dress in white for my wedding dress too
I think we've settled on a Vivienne of Holloway halterneck. I didnt think they would be ok as they're halterneck but suggested it anyway and she really liked it so she's going to have a halterneck bra I think. I won't get a petticoat for it as I don't think it will go as well with my dress if it's sticking out too much. Glad she's happy! I wanted to spend less than £100 as my dress was only £125! So I'm happy toogoing to get it in black and make a purple sash instead of a belt. Our invites are black and purple and our cake will have either black or purple ribbon so that's as close to a colour scheme as we've got!
