    Thanks Silaqui. :D

I loved the cameo as well, it's so pretty... but the swatch was very draining next to my BM's face! :o

Nick whatever ideas you want :D and I'm always here if you want to ask anything.

Our venue will print menus, but I am being a bit OCD and want my own menus! It all has to fit in with the vintage/shabby chic/whimsical theme, which their headed paper definitely won't! :rotfl:

OOS = order of service :)

Oh and GO SWIMMING!!!!!!!!! :j :rotfl:

I'm going walking with a friend this evening. :) Got to get back to the 30 Day Shred from tomorrow!!

Ah, are they the leaflet things for in the church? Are they a definite requirement do you think or just a nice-to-have? I don't go to many weddings as you can probably tell! I've only just got my head round dresses and save the dates hehe!

I thought that about the cameo one, it's very cool toned and could probably make a lot of people look corpse like! Suede rose has that blush tone to it.

Consider yourself ignored till you get back from Swimming :p

(I've got Yoga at 6 - cannot wait been about 3 weeks since the last session cause the instructor's had a break).

I am umming and ahhing about whether to go swimming or to the gym :p because I'm on my own don't really like swimming on my own for some reason. And in fact, I might go to the gym to test out my new iPod - :D forgot to say on here that Apple are doing a replacement thing for anyone who has got a 1st generation iPod Nano - originally the report was just that they would replace them because they had a faulty battery, but I received mine back today and it's a shiny new 6gen touchscreen nano! :T:T:T

I have the 30 Day Shred, it's a killer but you do feel sooo good afterwards! Can't do it here at my mums though because it's laminate flooring and I slip over too much, not to mention sounding like a herd of elephants jumping around!

    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o
  • Just been for my first jog in 20 years!! It fair killed me!! Haha. I ran a few lamp posts then fast walked to the next and then ran again. Well jogged. It took what felt like ages to recover afterwards and my chest is very tight now but I will do it again as I did/do feel better for giving it a go.
  • I didnt make it to the gym today- I went round my friends instead for a catch up! I did go yesterday though and will go tomorrow, maybe thursday and then saturday and sunday. Im aiming 3-4 times a week, but 5 would be even better!! Im debating whether to get up at normal time tomorrow and go to the gym and get it out the way then go on my first aid course or whether to go after (hmm decisions!)

:j Wanchai for getting your dress, and that youve found your bridesmaid dress. and also :j on sorting out your readings. My friend got married in a church but she was allowed the hands reading so I think some churches would allow non religious readings.

My day invites havent cost me much at all. I got ivory pearl a6 cards with envelopes (about £5 for 50), 3 larges sheets of pink card (75p) which I cut down to size for inserts, a butterfly hole punch (about £4) and pink ribbon (I got way too much and it was about £4) and double sided tape (£1). I will deliver as many as I can by hand, one had to go to Spain so to give plenty of notice and to save on postage I sent that with their Christmas card. RSVP cards I used the business cards from vistaprint and on the back is a song request option, I also got my evening invites from their, I used the postcards and turned them into day invites. All I paid for for the vistaprint was about £10 which was mostly p and p but also included about £2 for envelopes, but in total I reckon my invites have cost me £25. (and Im very pleased with them).

From the weddings Ive been to in a church the oos have included the words to hymns and prayers/ readings, if you didnt have them Im not sure how people would know the words.

FANTASTIC getting out there!! You will have to join us in the Lincoln 10K lol no excuses!!
I can remember when I felt properly fit. I'd done a 5K run in good time (30-32 mins) and as I was walking down the drive way I was collared by our then neighbour. I was able to stand and chat to him for a good 15 mins without collapsing in a heap! My recovery time is getting back there.
Im aiming 3-4 times a week.
I don't know what sort of stuff you do at the gym and whether you rotate it or whether you do the same routine each time. But I would say you should be going one day, resting the next, going the next day etc. With our training for the 10K we *only* run 3 days a week, extending the distances, altering the type of running. In a couple of weeks we have a 4th run but that is just a maintenance run - only 3K. On the days when I'm not running I do completely different forms of exercise so I'm still working out but I'm using a different set of muscles and working on my core stength/upper body strength. Don't mean that to sound quite as preachery as it's written!!

Right tea time - got mackerel for tea - YUM!
  • Some of my days have to be back to back cos otherwise they would fall on days into the next week which I cant do (if that makes sense). Im just going to stick with what I did this time 2 years ago (when I lost 1 stone for my friends wedding) as it seemed to work. I tend to vary the cardio and weights otherwise I get bored. I think I will also aim to go swiming at least once a week- but I find swimming a hassle cos I look silly with my swimming cap on- but otherwise my red hair may run!!:rotfl:

Oh I know how you feel about your hair Emma!! Lol one reason I stopped swimming lol. (I can't wear a swimming cap cause it affects my eczema on my scalp).

So MrD is out for the night - lol I want something totally weddingy and OTT to do lol. Something I couldn't possibly do in his presence but I can't think of anything!! Lol I may just have to go into my office and just spread everything out lol. A couple of people in one of my schools today was asking about our wedding :D One I didn't even know knew about it! (I've tried to keep wedding talk to a minimum really - have told fellow colleagues in my service but not really talked about it in the schools I visit). Getting VERY excited. I think I really will pop before July!
  • Natalie- I would say you could try your ring on- But Im half expecting youve already done that!!:rotfl:

Oh went out Friday and I had good intentions of taking pics (cant do it while he is about) but I got distracted with the kings speech!!:D

Wanchai- Downton was amazing, so sad but happy aswell, roll on series 3- not sure how I will cope having to wait a week between each episode though!!:D

    Hi All,

I have just come across this forum and have been reading some of the posts, so many ideas and so many july brides how exciting :).

I will be getting married on the 7th july at The Holiday Inn Barnsley.
I actually live in Birmingham and OH lives in sheffield so trying to plan for the wedding is proving to be quite hard as I dont live local and have very little knowledge of the area.

    So far we have the following booked;

    Venue
    Photographer
    Videographer
    Chair covers/saches
    make up artist

    still to book;

    table centrepieces
    catering (have shortlisted two)
    stage and venue decor
    brides outfit
    Grooms outfit
    DJ
    invites

I have had a few quotes for table centrepieces but everything is coming up so expensive so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone and sharing ideas with you all.

ps- if any of you live local to sheffield and know of any good contacts for any from the outstanding list i would be very grateful if you could email them to me. need all the help I can get :).

Ha - do what I do with Don't Tell The Bride - sky plus it all and then watch it all in one great sitting. Only problem with that is having to wait so long to watch them, and having to avoid any talk about it in the mean time lol.

(And yep I do try it on on a regular occurrence lol)

I'm sat watching DTTB (BBC3) - don't think it's a new series but I don't think I've seen it before. The girl on it had a tea length princess style dress - I sooo want MY dress now!! I cannot wait to see it. Then I will have to decide whether I want a petticoat for it or not. Ooo decisions decisions!!

Welcome Zara - as soon as I've written this I will add you to the list of July brides :D
I don't know Sheffield so can't help with local suppliers - but have you thought about making your own centre pieces? They'd probably be cheaper :)
Ooo another bride who's yet to choose their dress - can't wait to see some piccies of dresses you're considering - lol just don't follow Wanchai's example and string it out for months and months and months :rotfl:.
