Good news on the baby front! You'll have to rush out and buy a gift now!! X
Yay to Wanchai for finally deciding on the dress. You have made my Xmas. I feel all smiley for you. I cant add a smiley, sorry as I'm on my phone.
Well all this shoe talk has got me on the hunt again. I love the vintage lace ones and I sooo would spend £200 on shoes as my dress was a bargain. I'm worried that by having lace when I have lace and sparkle on the top half of my dress it will clash. I like things to match and I don't think it's going to happen. Hence I've been shoe shopping for 5 months now!!! Still no closer
Right back to shopping for me as still have future BiL to get and daughter has received money from her dad, we are completely shocked by this, and would like a tv so I'm off to John Lewis.0 -
Shocked by the money not the TV!!
Think I've found a smiley for Wanchai -0 -
"Being MSE" isn't about being cheap though is it. It's about spending your money wisely and getting the most for it. Whether that is spending £10 or £10000. The dress you ARE getting yes it's 'expensive' but that doesn't mean 'overpriced' and therefore 'un-MSE'. For that day's feeling like a princess and everyone oooing over you, then I think it's money well spent and therefore it is MSE. If you were to buy a £100 dress, hate it, spend the whole day wishing you had a different dress, then that would be £100 wasted and that would be very un-MSE. Even though it is less than your budget. I'm not just saying this to make you feel better - it is true - if you put a post up and ask everyone what the definition of being MSE is nearly everyone would reply with something along the same lines as this. (Of course there will always be some that think MSE = low cost). Besides WHEN you order your dress you could always ask about things being thrown in e.g. an underskirt, or free alterations. (The cost of my dress includes alterations for example).
Absolutey agree 100% with Mrs D - Very wise ladyExciting news this morning.... my sister gave birth to my niece early this morning I think she's about 5lbs.. so will be going to visit them this evening after work. But I don't have a Christmas present for niece. My mum's really excited and shocked at the same time. Baby wasn't due until around 22 January....
My youngest was born 7 weeks prem (very long story!) it's nothing these days - fingers crossed baby will be home for Xmas (if not already) xxx
Future Cooper - do you have a shorter dress or a long one?
Sparkly shos peeping out from underneath your dress whilst you walk will look amazing - but if it's shorter, only you will know when you get the 2 together whether it will work or not.....
Either way - you WILL find THE shoes before your wedding
xxx
Wanchai - YEYI think you know what you're going to do
i'm so pleased for you <massive hugs>The newest Mrs Lindley...... I married my Welsh Soulmate on 11-11-11 xxx0 -
Oh I forgot to add - my mum's face last night also helped make my mind up about the colour of my hair - it was a look of disappointment lol.
And MrD finally gave me an answer - said he wanted red. Lol.
:rotfl:
sounds like a plan

Dang, I've forgotten to WI again!!!!!!:o Never mind the 2lbs, you will lose it no probs my dear - if not by Friday then soon!!!! :A xx
Thanks for the wise words about the dress. You are, of course, 100% right! This is the one day that I want to get it right and feel a million dollars. I don't want to wear a dress that I'm not 100% sure about. I want to wear my dream dress and not regret the expense one little bit:D:D
Yay for your hair decision, the red will be fab! Red hair rocks

So I have just placed an order for the rest of our alcohol (well nearly).
I budgeted £450 for all the drinks. I have (will have) spent £261.43, meaning there is £188.57 left in the budget. (This needs to buy 12 more bottles of wine, some cans of carling for my mum lol, fizzy drinks and some squash).
For the alcohol I've bought I've managed to save £130.47 of their RRP/normal price
I have bought/ordered:
6 bottles of Echo Falls Merlot 75cl (red wine)
12 bottles of Echo Falls Chardoney 75cl (white wine)
12 bottles of Echo Falls White Zinfandel 75cl (rose wine)
8 bottles Bulmers Original Cider 568ml
16 Bottles Magners Irish Cider 568ml
16 Bottles Magners Pear Cider 568ml
8 Bottles Bulmers Pear Cider 568ml
20 bottles peroni 330ml
36 bottles corona 330ml
20 bottles of tuborg 275ml
30 bottles of stella 284ml
24 bottles of Grolsch 275ml
24 bottles of becks 275ml
This brings a total of 329 drinks. (For 53 guests including MrD, me, and some kids). :T
This equates to just over 79p a drink!!0 -
Warning: Holby City Spoiler Alert!
(To see what I've written highlight the following)
Hurrah Chrissy called it off with Dan!! :T Now she can marry Sacha! :j:T0 -
Also just thinking about my shoes - I've just emailed my mum - but I'm thinking because the shoes that are possibly too ivory would go really well with my dress. But they are such normal boring wedding shoes - I'm thinking I could get them and get them dyed burgundy to match everything. I know I know we've talked about this before lol. Anyway to help tie them in (cause I'm not always going to have my bouquet in my hand). I was thinking I could get my jewellery maker to make me a necklace incorporating the burgundy colours. ....
... BUT would that then clash with red hair?! Argh!
(the red hair is now non-negotiable).0 -
I've been having a think about my accessories now that I have chosen my dress (I love saying that) - am considering some v. unusual ideas but can't post them on here so PM me if you want to know - would love some opinionsAlso just thinking about my shoes - I've just emailed my mum - but I'm thinking because the shoes that are possibly too ivory would go really well with my dress. I don't think it would clash at all! It sounds brilliant! Amd would solve your shoe dilemmaWhat shade of red will your hair be? Lol at non-negotiable red hair!
