Hi everyone!
Wanchai I really like those lacy type dressesThey are so pretty.
Good luck to everyone with the weightloss ventures - I have set myself a goal to try and lose 7lb by Christmas but that has been scuppered this week because I've had two parents evenings so haven't been getting home till gone 9pm and picking up a kfc on the way home, oopsI have two next week aswell, then a week without any but then there is another two so I will have to think of an alternative - I'm starving by then though so it needs to be something filling!
I really like your opal ring Rachel, so pretty I love the way opals kind of 'glimmer'.
We are going into town tomorrow for OH to choose his ring in Goldsmiths while they've got the extra Tesco voucher offer thing on. I should probably look for mine because I can't remember where I've put it  Come to think of it I dunno where the invitations are either, hopefully somebody does! I should probably start writing some of them soon!
I can't remember if I have asked this before, but apologies if I have because I have obviously totally ignored your answers :rotfl: anyway, we are having day bit at the church which is mainly family (about 50) then in the evening at the pub there will be about 100 people in total.
I'm wondering which of the following schedules to go for:
OPTION A
Ceremony 2pm (or half 2, can't remember what we told the vicar)
Drinks reception for day guests at 3.30/4pm
Carvery buffet thing for 100 odd at about 5.30pm
Cake
Party
OPTION B
Ceremony 2ish
Drinks reception and carvery buffet thing for day guests at about 5/5.30pm
Eve guests arrive 7.30ish
Finger buffet 8.30/9pm
Cake and party
Any opinions? There's not a huge difference in cost, only a couple of hundred so it's negligible.
I'm erring towards the second one, but wondered what other people thought?
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
Are you having a proper photographer who can waste/will need a couple of hours after the ceremony taking photos?0
-
No, we are just hiring someone for 2 hours for before and during the ceremony then it's just snap happy relatives! xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0

Mmm I think if I was a day guest then I would prefer Option A as then you aren't having to hang about as much inbetween things happening. Perhaps you could ask one or two of your day guests what they'd prefer? Also why not google 'wedding timeline' - I was browsing the weddingbee forum the other weekend and they have many threads dedicated to the timeline of the day down to the minute!! Lol including things like 'bride wakes up', 'bride gets a shower'. Lol - someone tell me off if I ever get that OCDy. (It is very possible).
Hurrah I've just booked us in to my fave restaurant for my birthdayYum! And it's healthy stuff - meat and veg - so I won't be blowing the 'diet' on pizzas.
Lol and MrD actually wants to watch the film Bridesmaids :rotfl: so it's downloading as I type!0 -
It's a tricky one Silaqui!!!!
I would be tempted to go for Option A... but it depends on whether you want it to be just the 50 more 'important'/closer guests for a few hours before the hordes descendhope that makes sense!
Thanks for your comments on the dresses and good luck finding your ring and invitations!!! :rotfl:7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Mel- thats a toughy. Our day will be just like option 2, we get married at 3 and will then head to the reception for a sit down buffet to be served about 5, evening guests invited from 7.30 with a hot and cold buffet served about 8.30/9. As a guest I would be happy with either option. We went for option 2 as it suited the type of day we want more. Plus it suited me more- Im a little but often eater, plus I like the idea of some food about 9 to soak up some of the alcohol.
Natalie- I loved bridesmaids! Sooooo funny.
Im driving on and off the motorway at the mo! And the next 2 weeks arent going to be great as I have loads of plans of eating out!!0 -
Drove full speed motorway all day then veered big time as H2B took me on a date night. Just had a gorgeous pizza and my first glass of wine in months. Right back on track.
I'll try and find the link wanchai for the dress. Good luck tomorrow for the next round of dress shopping! Almost wish I hadn't got mine so I could still try on!
Taking H2B to view the jewellery I Tomorrow have found to see if he likes it. Fingers crossed he might get his wallet out. Haha
Mel - I would quite like Option A. I worry that if my guests are all drinking on an empty tummy they'll be half cut by tea time. I'm going on my own past experience!!!!!0 -
Oh good luck with the jewellery shopping tomorrow.
ANd good luck deciding tomorrow Wanchai. Oh and thats fine about not telling us your name- I fully understand as I wouldnt use my proper full first name on here.:)
I showed some work friends some pics of my invites and my centrepieces and got fab feedback!0 -
Silaqui - my day will be like option 2. Our ceremony is at 3pm so hopefully our guests should have eaten before they come. Our drinks reception will be right after the ceremony while we also have photos then our sit down meal is at 5. Evening guests will arrive at 7 and we will have a buffet and cake later in the evening. In reality guests will only have about an hr and a half between the ceremony and the meal and they'll be occupied with having a drink and a chat and walking round the house avd gardens. We're also considering hiring a vintage ice cream cart which would keep them occupied and provide a wee snack before the meal. So yeah... I would say option 2
Good luck everyone with diets and wedding stuff this weekend! I'm waiting for a quote from a lovely florist I had a consultation with on Tuesday - fingers crossed its not too eye watering!!Xx
