Wanchai - I'm also planning on having a homemade photobooth - have so far bought some felt, found some moustache templates, and bought some vintage looking signs... would also want a chalk board! there were some nice ones on notonthehighstreet.com. and I remember seeing some on amazon that were quite reasonable.

Welcome back Natalie - I could understand the honeymoon issue. could you speak to the in-laws about it? I have a slightly similar (but different) situation as my parents are coming to my wedding from abroad. so we are planning (it was acutally OH's idea - bless him) to have a mini-moon somewhere in Europe (currently thinking Bruges then Paris) for just over a week with my parents! and then when we go on our proper honeymoon in 2013, that will be just the two of us!

Now i have a slight venue issue too... the reception venue (a reasonable sized hotel chain) we booked had gone into administration in September and was bought by another group. So I obviously panicked... I rang up the reception and was informed that everything is still fine, and that the packages bought will be honoured at the same price and all that's changed is the ownership... but I'm still slightly worried - should I get someone to confirm in writing? or am I just being silly worrying about something that I shouldn't need to?
  • Alice- I think if you are worrying about the venue then maybe just drop them an email explaining your worries and see what they reply. Im sure you wont be the only bride who wants something in writing.

I cant wait to see all your after photos from the photo booth.

I cant believe its Sunday already, I have had a long weekend but its still gone way too quickly! Have had a nice day today, Ive been to my aunts and my cousins husband was there and he has been in hospital since end of July after having a major op and was allowed a weekend home so it was lovely to see him.

I wonder what wedding related thing I can do this week!

  • WXY - I would suggest you contact the hotel stating exactly what you have arranged and paid for to date. Then ask them for a new 'terms and conditions' policy on their new headed paper for the hotel chain. That way they will be contractually obliged to honour your booking. Its probably best to be safe than sorry. Its your big day after all and you don't want to be worrying about such a big thing.

PBNY - I love those vintage jugs. They look great with tall stocks in them. If they were lilac or purple i would bidding against Wanchai for them!!! I have them in my watch list!

I have decided that having round tables will mean i need something of height in the centre. I can't decide whether to make something of height displaying the table number or to make larger paper pom poms to put in the middle and put my jam jars and tins with large headed flowers in (hydrangeas etc) around it. Fingers crossed that the venue doesn't have anything booked in the function hall the day before because then i can go in anytime on the Thursday to decorate myself, if not then H2B is going to do it on the wedding morning. My immediate thought was i will have to draw a very clear plan of exactly what i want where or it could all go horribly wrong!! Bless him

Considering i have had a week off work and i didn't do any of the projects that i need to start. I really must get a start on the invitations as they are going to take quite a while as i have to hand sew each one. I have managed to pick my future SIL's brains for putting together my button bouquet. She is a florist and she shared her tips on how to wire it together and how to secure the lace frill i want around it. (she lives in H2B hometown of Guildford so i have been waiting to find time to go down with my buttons for her advice! Well worth the wait) I'm dying to get it finalised but im still waiting on some family buttons from Australia.

Right back to work for me as i have really busy month coming up. x

Woo hoo I have booked our honeymoon :) I am a very happy and excited bunny indeed!! We fly on the 26th July and return on the 2nd August. Very very happy. I have sent an email to the dive company and have told them the dates that I'd like them to pencil us in for. :D

Today is day 1 of diet (again lol). I'm pooped though - first day back and all. Lol.

Welcome Liz :) I'm sure we can help you organise and plan your wedding, if you want the help :)

What have you got planned so far apart from the date?
  • Welcome Liz - we all love new July brides! Let us all know whats planned so far . . . we like to share. :)

:j:j for Natalie on booking your honeymoon and even more :T for booking in your new married name! I am travelling in my 'maiden' name on our honeymoon as my passport expires soon after so i am can renew with my married name and an up to date photo. The hotel advised us to bring our marriage certificate to show were honeymooners then we can still get the complimentary champagne etc.

Good news from my corner is I telephoned the original venue as they had not contacted me after I wrote my letter asking for our deposit back (surprise, surprise) and they offered me a full refund! No questions, no attitude, just take my credit card in to have it refunded . . . . RESULT. So the guilt has lifted from messing poor H2B about and spending his money on a new venue. I still can't believe we have such a beautiful new venue. 38 Fridays to go!!
