    Hi everyone!

Well I bought my wedding ring today :o:p I went for the one that I wasn't sure about getting because of the cost, I know I shouldn't have asked you lot :rotfl: I might have known you'd have all talked me into it! I'll take a photo of it at some point and figure out how to put it on here.

We have just been to church this morning, gotta put the hours in so the vicar lets us get married there haha. We're gonna start packing tomorrow as we are gonna be moving back to my parents this month. My sister finally got the keys for her house, went to look at it yesterday and it's really nice, they got a bargain there. Is it awful of me to be reeeeeaaalllyyy jealous :( I just have to keep thinking of the savings...

Haha I love it when my OH goes away, I don't miss him at all! It means I get to live in a tidy house for once :D I probably would miss him if he went away for a long time, but he only goes for 3 weeks at the most so it's nothing really. I guess you have an excuse LauraL with the hormones! It must be so awful to be pregnant and have no control of anything, the thought of it really freaks me out.

Oh Natalie, I think the problem with the sims on FB is my end, I can't get onto the game at all :(

LauraR, it's funny how you can totally miss stuff like that? I always do it, proof read 2 or 3 times then I get 100 copies or something printed and as soon as I pick them up I spot the mistake! Sods law... :rotfl:

Lol Laura - Can we see a sneaky peek of your wedding invites even with the misspelling? :D

Mel- yaaaaay at buying your wedding ring :D Lol. I am sure you needed no persuasion to buy it really - it makes perfect sense to me to buy The Ring after all its the one that's going to be on your finger for life! :)
    How was church?
And no I don't think it's awful of you to feel jealous of your sister - I would be the same. Like you said - just imagine the savings you're going to be able to make. And any time you feel like pulling your hair out at living back at home you can always come and rant to us lot :)
Oh no about Sims!! I've been reading the official forum for it and there are loads of people who haven't been able to get on for the last couple of days. They are working on it apparently and fingers crossed it'll be back up and running. I hope so anyway lol cause I need your friendship to help me do the achievements!

Oh hopefully they will get the Sims back up and running, I was getting a bit addicted!

Church was ok... without getting into a big theological discussion, it's not really my thing :o We're gettting married there because it's my grandma and grandads church, everyone in my family has been married or had their marriage blessed there so thought it would be nice for them for us to carry it on.

Oh I'm sure I shall be on here ranting when I get fed up of my mum! I will have to try very hard not to regress into a teenage when I move back!

Haha well the ring does look good with the engagement ring! Although it's amazing how much the white gold has yellowed, in fact that reminds me I need to look up the receipt because I can have it rhodium plated for free if it's within a year.

I am really lucky with my non-engagement ring - it has lost its shine but it hasn't yellowed at all (but then I have only had it for coming up to 2 years - eeek am I really going to be 32 this year *sob*)

Yea I'm not religious - my grandma was - lol my poor grandad had to go to church cause she was a catholic. Have to say though - her catholic funeral service was beautiful. Without being morbid there was a line the priest (?) said along the lines of don't think about it as her time being up, more she'd completed her job with us. I thought that was lovely. I do think traditions are important though. It is lovely that your family have been married there and makes sense to me that you'd want to follow that tradition on. Lol fortunately for me my family are so spread out, moved around the country that there is no tradition. :) I am definitely up for making some of our own traditions though - lol like on the 1st Saturday in December we go and dig up our own Christmas tree. MrD's parents come with us and it's the four of us trapsing through a field full of Christmas trees finding the perfect most symmetrical and balanced tree - then laughing as we try to dig the blooming thing up to then bring it back and plant it in a massive pot and decorating it... although noone helps me with the decorating - that's my job. I LOVE Christmas - it is my favourite time of the year - I so believe in the magic of Christmas. If I ever have a child I am so taking them to Santa's village in Finland. :) I think i've said before - if we weren't getting married on the day we met 13 years to the date then I'd want to get married as close to Christmas as I could :D

Mmm I've waffled havent I - from your church to Christmas lol.

Oh thats lucky then. Mind you it's made of old gold isn't it? I read somewhere that the white gold they used to use was different to the white gold that they make now and doesn't need plating so much as the alloy (or whatever it is) is mixed in rather than coated on top.

I think I'm going to get the e-ring done just before the wedding so that the w-ring doesn't show it up on the day lol, then hopefully they will wear and the same time which means I don't need it doing so often. I don't mind the yellowness as it still looks fine but they'll look weird if they are different.

Hehe yeah it's all my mums family that have always gone there, I'm half German on my dads side and I don't really know that side of the family as much (good for the guest list as there are loads of them!) I've only really met them on holidays and stuff.
Yeah I do think some of it is nice. I prefer the bits that the vicar does because he relates it to real life so it make more sense (well some of the time -I was itching to put my hand up and ask a question today because it seemed so contradictory but OH told me he'd smack me if I started making trouble lol!) but some of the long winded repetitive prayer stuff seems so scripted and meaningless.

I'm so rubbish with stuff like that, it's so good that you do things like that! I'm terrible for not bothering or forgetting things. I forgot my own birthday this year. I'm really good at remembering other people's though! OH asked me how it is that I remember everyone's birthday except my own, and I dunno really! I think it's because I don't have to remember to buy myself a card! :rotfl:
I don't normally bother with a christmas tree either :o My mate says I am a scrooge but I don't see the point because we always spend xmas doing the rounds visiting family so there's no point going to the hassle of putting one up at home when we are not even there! Xmas is all about the food and drink for me :rotfl:

I think it's probably because we are a couple rather than a family that I don't really bother with anything like that because I still kind of stick to the things we did when I was a kid IYSWIM? So we normally go round my mums for xmas day, we always sit in the same places, do the same thing etc. If we ever have kids obviously it'll most likely be in our home so that's when we'll start doing things our own way.

OH MY GOD (sorry vicar) are we seriously talking xmas in August lol!

Are any of you writing your own vows? I'm umming and ahhing about it - haven't spoken to MrD about it yet - lol not approaching him about the actual ceremony until Easter lol think he needs that long to 'come to terms with it' :rotfl:. I don't know if the stock vows say all I want them to - but I'm not sure I'd be able to write my own - I wouldn't want to google them and nick someone elses.

:) no the band is the 'new' part of my ring - 18ct though dunno if that stops it going yellow as much. I am considering getting it redone though (rhodium plated?) so it's nice and shiny next to my wedding ring :D

Hahahaaa I can just imagine you attending a church service and causing a riot by asking controversial questions lol.

Oh I have to get a tree - for starters Bunny loves them!! He will sit under the canopy all safe and protected all day long :D He is such a little sausage! He proper sulked for weeks after we took last years down!! As soon as I break up for the Christmas holidays I will start watching as many trashy made-for-TV american Christmas films as I can - lol I just love it!! The build up does it for me. I love organising and planning the perfect gifts. I can never sleep the night before! :D Lol Christmas day itself is always such an anticlimax - lol that's how I imagine this whole wedding thing to be - loving the planning and organising - but the day itself will come and go and afterwards I'll be left wondering is that it?! lol

A very small part of me wouldn't mind a child so we could start our own family traditions :) We have already started one at Christmas - pretty much since we started seeing each other/staying the night with each other on Christmas Eve night - we have the morning together, cook Christmas dinner for the two of us together, then we go to his parents (round the block) and spend the afternoon with them, then we go to my mums around tea time (around an hours drive). I refuse to see his parents and not see my mum, and I don't want to get into the we'll go to yours this year and mine next year. :D I'm so glad I put my foot down from the start :D

Heh heh I can talk about Christmas all year round - I was actually saying to MrD the other day - I wonder if Santa's village is set up all year round or only in Winter - cause I would so go and visit like February/out of season time - it'd have to still be snowy there. lol I believe in the magic of Christmas far more than I believe in the magic of Disney :rotfl:. (And it's somehow fitting that I was named Natalie after Natalie Wood who played the little girl in the original Miracle on 34th street!!) :D!
