July 2012 Brides and Grooms

Now whose job is it to sort the confetti out? Is it the bride and grooms to buy it and issue it? Or do the guests just buy their own? (Haven't been to a wedding since I was 17/18 so I can't remember!) Is this something else for me to plan/organise?
I could make the cones out of old love letters we'd written each other (obviously screened for any rudeness lol) - and I'd scan them in and print them out rather than using the originals.0 -
Ok I think I may have something else to plan/prepare/organise - a finger print tree. I've heard it banded about before on here but thanks to the September brides thread I now actually see what one is and how great they are. I *think* this could be our 'guest' book. I will obviously have to run it by MrD first.
Hopefully with 57 (possibly 59 - I'm umming and ahhing over 2 guests - I would like them to be with us but not sure as that means we're almost back up to 60).... anyway yea - hopefully with 57 of us we'd be able to get a good canopy for a tree
I think they are quite cool as you can frame them and actually put them up somewhere (if they turn out neat enough) rather than having a guestbook that would be stuffed away in a box somewhere. And you could keep it MSE by drawing out your own bare tree on a piece of sturdy card!
I hate having old stuff in boxes everywhere. I don't keep anything, I'm pretty ruthless - my mum was talking about valentines day cards the other day and was horrified when I said I chucked them away :rotfl:
Where's Lauraaaaaaa!!!! Hahaha

Dunno about confetti I just assumed that if people wanted to throw it they'd bring their own?

I agree!! I was thinking I probably wouldn't have it up on a wall just because it wouldn't suit the decor of our house... BUT after the wedding - probably for our first year anniversary - I plan on making a photobook/scrap book full of all the photos I'll have taken, the photographer will have taken, and our guests, and anything like the tree etc scanned in/photoed so they can go in as well (like my photo of our stationery). I do this for all our holidays - I collect so much junk like all the receipts - and then create a photobook scrapbook0

well ladies.. i got home at 6.15 so sorry for keeping u waiting..
.. i had my trip to york.. tried on about 6 dresses inc the mori lee dress which was stunning but the sweetheart neckline was no good for my boobs so i tried a few more on and had a short list of 3 when i left. so i decided we would go via hornsea (discount wedding dresses galore)
we found ONE in a similar style and it looked horrid on the hanger i really didnt want to try it on but did and it was flipping gorgeous. it need altering round the bust and im going to get straps on to make it a halterneck.
not a brilliant pic but here goes....0 -
FABBY!! Definitely worth the wait!
Soooo glad that you tried on the Mori Lee dress and from there knew what sort of dress you were afterThat is a great dress and I think the whatever-neckline-it-is is much more forgiving for the bigger busted girls (it's the same neckline as mine).
Ooo and it's a lace up too (can just see a sneaky peek of it in the mirror). Fabby fabby fabby :T:T:T:T
