Just a few ideas of how you could embellish your invites Laura (not that I think they need it mind):
Rather than sticking on some flat back crystals (or even hearts like I have for my table decorations) you could glue some pale white/silver glitter on like the left hand side of the hearts. This is as close as I can find. (To get a thin line of glue - put some white PVA glue on a palette of some sort - lol I'd just use some newspaper, and use a cocktail stick as a paintbrush).
Or you could do some sort of 'woosh' through the hearts. You could do this with a pale silver/white glitter. Or you could try getting some ribbon and sticking that on.
Or you could make your Vistaprint invites onto thinner paper, and buy some good quality thick white card and use the vistaprint invites like an 'insert'. Gluing the vistaprint onto the card so it's free at the edges. I'm not explaining things very well. Kinda like the invite here.
You could even get them printed on smaller sized card and then do a gatefold with a piece of ribbon around them like mine.there is loads of things you could do if you wanted to.

Well im back from the gym- i thought i better go as I had chocolate cake for breakfast and we are having chinese for dinner (ohs birthday so I cant say no!!:D)
They have about 20 musical pieces and 20 wordy songs that they have there or we can provide our own, so we may have one from their list and one made especially for us. Ohs brother is in a band/ into producing music etc so we may as well use him, plus I do like the idea of having something made especially for us. Ill have a listen to the music linked below later (when oh isnt around to moan that he cant hear the tv!:rotfl:)
LauraR- I know the feeling of not wanting a first dance, I told my sister what we may have and she pulled and face and looked disapprovingly (its better than my ohs first suggestion of puddle of mud- she f***ing hates me!!:rotfl:). I said we will have what we want, not a song that means nothing to us that we just have 'cos its tradition!'
Laura3- hopefully youll find the dress cheaper- do you have a relative or friend that is comfortable to haggle- of so take them with you and get them to haggle down the price (I myself would do this as I couldnt haggle myself). It annoys me how people some hairdressers put the price up so much just for a wedding, same with make up, luckily i know a hair dresser and a make up person who ive know both for years so am geting excellent rates.
Natalie- thats a good price for the echo falls. I guess I need to find out the prices our venue charge for wine and the see if we can afford a few bottles, and also find out what they charge for something for the toast, then ill decide whether to get my mum to get us anything when she next goes on a booze run to france (she goes usually once a year).
Well im on a mission to get a dj sorted, i emailed one dj last night and he has replied and seems very confident in playing what we want, im just waiting for our friend to get a quote from someone else but I think I may go for the one who emailed me today.:)0 -
:jI have just converted my tesco vouchers into goldsmiths vouchers so in about 5 days will be able to order my ring!:D0
-
:T:j yaaaaaaaay that is great news Emma!!
I have just placed an order with Tescos for 12 bottles of rose, and have placed 6 more bottles of white in my asda basket. Will get the beer/cider over the next year - not so worried about making sure I get that in.
I'm starting to flag - I think I might go have a nap!0 -
Forgot to say thank you Laura3- Im going to have a look to see if I can find anywhere that dont charge a fortune to hire out a petticoat.
And Natalie- Thats good about ordering more wine. Places always have beer and cider on various good offers anyway, you will be best off waiting for christmas, or maybe even the Euros- big footbal events always means cheap beer!0 -
Sorry i havn't got time to read back.

So how is everyone today? Done anything weddingy?
Well I have made a start on sorting out the backgarden. We have 7 fence panels along the back of our garden (to give you a sense of how wide it is), in front of it we used to have a hedge. That was chopped down a couple of years ago but we never got round to digging up all the roots etc, so it has become a bit overgrown and full of brambles. So my task is to cut it all back down and dig up what I can. I'll then go out and buy some grass seed/feed and see if I can get it grassed over for next Summer. It will give us about an extra meter worth of depth to the garden for guests standing onSo far I have mowed the backgarden, pulled up all the stinging nettles out of the side hedge (damn things), and cut back all the crap across one fence panel - next job get digging!
Then take what I've accumulated to the tip
Oh I have also done 1 load of washing, washed a pillow, and put a dishwasher load on. A woman's work is never done lol.
