laura3 i was looking on here http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001456522761#!/profile.php?id=100001428337025&sk=wall and found ur dress in the pics :) just thought id share lol x
  • :jon ordering the shoes and thats a fab price, bet your so glad you asked about discount now. Oh and thats good about deciding to get married in the hotel- have you booked the registrar yet? Your table decs are going to look fab.

Well I have pencilled in my friend to do my hair, ive known her years and shes fab at hair (usually cuts mine and my ohs hair) and she did my little sisters hair a couple of years back for a wedding and it looked fab- and thats exactly how she wants it when shes bridesmaid (ive said to my bridesmaids they can have their hair how they want), so thats another tick off the list. Went to order my petticoat today but wasnt 100% sure which one I needed as I didnt think the one i tried one had a hoop, so im going to look at what I have written down and will go back down next week. Had another look at rings and im definately going for the one ive loved for ages, so will sort my tesco vouchers out today so I can get that ordered at the same time I order my petticoat. I feel like im slowly but surely getting there!:D

    Laura3 your dress is gorgeous:)

LauraR :j for getting lots ordered. Hope you manage to find a nice hotel.

Emma good news on getting your hair sorted:) glad you still like the ring. I think we are looking at rings tomorrow when we go shopping after the scan!
  • well im now unsure what to do about my petticoat- im sure the one I tried on with my dress looked different to the one I was shown today, but the one shown today is the only £50 one they do and all i was told when i got my dress was I needed the £50 one!! And looking online I could get the one I was shown today for less than £40 so I dont know whether to risk it and order it and hope its ok, or order it from the shop and hope they would return it if its wrong as they have given me the wrong information!! hmmm, decisions decisions!!

have u already got ur dress? if u have it available to try i would get it from the shop try it and take it back... if its right get ur refund and order cheaper :)
  • i guess i need to find out the shops return policy. I am watching a 2nd hand one on ebay so if that were to go cheap enough it would be worth the gamble. My dress had quite a lot of netting underneath anyway so I think I just need it to take it away from my legs- why does this have to be soooo confusing!!:rotfl: (I may just take a photo and ask for Lindas advice!!)

LauraR- Did you hear anything more from the shops you were waiting to hear from?

got 5 replys all saying no one said they had something similar it was NOTHING like it lol.... and still awaiting about 5 replys.

just looking at invitations now, not sure weather to just do my origional vistaprint order them ready made or make my own... i want them to look really posh and expensive.. we got one given the other day and it was gorg and it should be really at £3.50each(evening invite) i want mine to look like that but be less then £1 lol x
  • Well fingers crossed one of the 5 yet to reply will have the dress.

What were your original vistaprint ones like? If your worried they arent posh enough Could you maybe do something to them once you have them- ie ribbon or some little sparkley jewels? Im sure natalie could give some tips on making posh and expensive invites for not too much as hers looked fab. (I havent made mine yet so no idea if I will able to make them look anything like they do in my head!!:rotfl:)

Good morning everyone!! I will have a good read of what I've missed in a minute. But just thought I'd let you all know that I'm back safe and sound :)

I really should be getting breakfast/sorting out my Asda delivery (I have bought 12 bottles of Echo Falls - £4 a bottle ready for our wedding - yaaaaaaay!)

I had a brilliant time at Eurodisney. The whole family just got on with each other far better than I'd (we'd) expected. I even went on some rides!! Loved a roller coaster called "Crush's Coaster" based on the turtle from Finding Nemo. I had my photo taken with Sully from Monsters Inc cuddling me! Did go on one ride that was just Horrible. (The Hollywood Hotel aka tower of terror/doom - which is basically a vertical drop). I didn't get sun burnt (see the sun cream thread). I wore some ear plugs for the carnival and the fireworks (ones that MrD wears when he's racing his bike) and I can honestly say they were probably the first fireworks display I've ever truly enjoyed - loved the ear plugs!! It was a manic 4 days and I'm soooo tired today (got in at 1:45 this morning and MrD's alarm went off at 7:30). It was really really good!

Okay so back to weddings :D

Today we're (I'm) back on my diet. I'm just over a stone heavier than I want to be - eeeek!! How has that happened?! Lol. I can only just slide my 'non-engagement' ring on and off!! Fat fingers lol.

Mel - have you thought of other 'adventurey' type hen dos? 4x4 off road, laser quest, high ropes. I do think you should do what you want to do - whilst taking into account of other people's thoughts/feelings. I don't think you should do a spa type day if you wouldn't like it! It is *your* hen do after all :D

Emma - Glad you have got your hen do sorted - in your head anyway. And quite rightly - if it's what you want to do then do it! (I don't think the timing of it, being in April, matters at all! The only reason I'm having mine the weekend before is because that way my hair, nails and skin will still be in tip top condition for the wedding lol). I bet you are all giddy now that you've given notice - it's all properly real now!!
That is great news about your guest list!! Must be such a relief knowing you don't have to trim off another 2 people.
Great news about getting your hairdresser sorted.
Did you get your goldsmith vouchers sorted?

LauraR - oh that is a shame that there's been a fall out with your OH's Aunt. Like you say it might all be resolved by next year. (Am I the only one that keeps saying things like "this time next year we'll have to..." talking about the preparation and lead up to the wedding, and then realising no actually this time next year we'll actually be married!)
    Hurrah for your bargainous shoes!!
Must be such a relief to be getting married in the hotel rather than the church. It'll also make things far more easier logistically for you and your guests cause you won't have to worry about transport from the two venues. :) So do this mean you'll need to give notice now (rather than having Baams read)?
Your original Vistaprint invites were lovely! (They were the blue hearts weren't they?) But if you aren't sure and want them a bit more 'posher' I would say google-image 'wedding invites' and see if there is any designs on there you'd like - like a folded card/embellishments that you could add to your vistaprint design.

LauraL - good luck for today's scan!! Hurrah for booking your honeymoon!! And great news about finding the chair covers cheaper than you were expecting!! Very MSE!

Laura3 - Oooo hurrah at finding a dress you love! That is a beautiful dress - lovely shape to it! That is such a shame about the murder mystery weekend not going ahead for your Hen - cor these Hen dos are being as hard to organise as the actual wedding aren't they!! I would love to do a murder mystery night!!
So glad your sister is okay!

    Right breakfast time
    x

    Lovely to be back!
