Haha Mel- the vodka on the tables sounds a fun wedding- I would be home by 7 though as vodka is my drink I cant handle!:rotfl:
I would be happy to get something for the toast, I like asti but am not sure if others do so if im not sure ill get asti for me and whatever for everyone else!:D
It is such a lovely day today. I should be logging off to go to the gym but doubt it will happen! Plus ive just kindly volunteered to go and straighten my mums hair and curl my little sisters hair as they have a wedding to go to today!0 -
If I remember rightly you have a layered cake stand, so why don't you do some Eton mess ones, and some with other non-strawberry fruits sliced on top, and just put them on alternate layers? To keep it looking 'right' just slice another strawberry on top of the eton mess ones.
Ooo I hadn't thought of that! Thanks Mel!! Yes I could very easily do layer's of Eaton Mess cheesecake (Layers 1, 3 and 5) then I could either do a plain cheesecake on layers 2 and 4 - or I could even do a totally different cheesecake - like chocolate or something. MrD could choose that one. Oooo am going to have fun this Summer making samples up. Damn shame lol. Oh and definitely will have a taste myself!! (Although not too much lol I still have a wetsuit to fit into!)
Well diet went well this weekI have lost 1.5lbs :T Only 8lbs to go now :T
P.S Only 4 weeks to go!!0 -

Silaqui My boys will be 1 and nearly 4 so they will sit with the family through the ceremony and then sit inbetween grandparents on the top table. lol.
not sure if we are going to the venue now as its a scorcher of a day so going to spend it sorting the garden i think... yey lol x
Oh thats not too bad then, they won't be that little. We went to church for the first time last week :o and it happened to be someone's christening and it was kind of ruined by all the babies babbling and crying all the way through, you couldn't hear a word the vicar was saying. The only one who wasn't making a noise was the one getting christened, she was good as gold and even burst into giggles when she got dipped in the water! I think the parents must have given her happy pills lol!PinkPrincess83 wrote: »Haha Mel- the vodka on the tables sounds a fun wedding- I would be home by 7 though as vodka is my drink I cant handle!:rotfl:

I shoudl be going to the gym really but I'm so not in the mood. Does making the bed and hoovering count as exercise? Haha. I like Asti, tbh I think people will drink anything for the toast, you only get a little bit anyway don't you so most people put up with it. I don't particularly like champagne but will drink it for toasting purposes!
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
Well my balloons have arrived, and I'm having a bit of an OCD moment - they aren't 'red burgundy' they are 'purple burgundy' so back to the drawing board. (i.e. ebay) I have opened the packet and blown one up just to make sure so I won't return them. I'll flog them instead in 10 balloon bundles.0

I have now placed an order for some red ones - I think even if it's the wrong shade red - red would look a lot better than purple!! Chants "I am not going to obsess over getting the right shade red". :rotfl:.
Well today is a lovely sunny day - MrD says he's off up to Cadwell this afternoon (he should have been racing but his bike isn't ready) so I think I will get out in the garden with my string. There really isn't much else I can do weddingwise. I really want to buy buy buy all my decorations but I'm holding back like a good girl!

Okay I have been out with the tape measure and some string. Our longest hedge (ie not hidden by shed) is 10m long 2m tall. I think in order for the fairy lights to be any good the hedge would need a net. There are 1.5 x1.5 nets on ebay for just over £13. So I'd need 6 of them. For just the one hedge. Eeek! Soooo with my MSE head on I have decided no - I don't need them. I *will* get a single string to wrap around the front legs of the gazebos but that should be no more than £10. I will stick to using garden torches to light the rest of the garden.0

OMG Amazon have an 18ct white gold Heavy D 3mm plain band for £133.90. This is nearly half the price that I was quoted by my local jewellers (albeit for a 2mm one). I did really want to go through them - you know supporting local business and they made my non-engagement ring. I have to decide whether a 3mm would be too big!0
-
whats 1mm between friends.... half the price...... i know what id be getting lol...
I have emailed my venue and told them exactly what we want and how much we have to spend... i said £2000 to include day buffet, evening sandwiches and pizza, drinks package, dj, hotel room for us for the evening, table linen and napkins! i hope they can do something for us! im getting fed up now lol! x0 -
Well I have spent the day searching online for cheap plastic glasses/plates/cutlery/banquet rolls/napkins and have placed an order, for what I think is a bargain!
Remember we're only have 53 people max including us.
I have bought 100 plastic cutlery sets (100 knives, 100 forks, and 100 spoons). £5.40
(I looked at Poundland, this would be £1 per 20, but that would mean going to Lincoln).
I got 25 22oz/pint plastic glasses. £2.64. and 50 8oz soft drink plastic glasses. £2.52
144 175ml plastic wine glasses. £13.67
(I could probably have got these cheaper but most plastic wine glasses don't have proper stalks and aren't rounded like these.)
As something a bit more 'us' (we've got a very angular house), 125 20cm 'sugarcane' square plates - they are suitable for wet and hot foods so they shouldn't go soggy and floppy like paper plates do. £15.59
200 33cm 2ply white paper napkins. £5.06 (Asda do 2 ply napkins for £1.65 for 100, so I have over spent on these but I'm not sure how big asda's ones are.)
and 25m of white banquet roll £6.00 (this will be enough to cover all my units in the kitchen lol).
Grand total (including postage) = £58.68.
Really pleased with the plates and the wine goblets the most. Really it was these that sold it lol. It's one less thing to worry about!0 -
Oh my god - went for tea with my mum and granddad... as we left I said "see you in 4 weeks"... to which she said "3?!".... turns out she has organised her summer holidays to clash with our wedding dress shopping date.... Argh! So now I've got to phone both bridal shops and pray they can fit us in in the next two Saturdays (yay) or I will have even longer to wait!! Wonder if they open on a Sunday!!0
