Well, only 24 days before I hit the campsite in Sweden, and 12 until the final assessment board.
Working from home today, as British Gas need to exchange my electric meter, still waiting for them - they have 2 hours 20 minutes left to come and do the job
Had to do an Open Day at work last Saturday, so hit Oxford Street with my mum after it to start looking at dresses in the high street stores, tried on a short style dress and it didn't suit me, but found some lovely dresses in Monsoon and quite taken with one of them: http://www.monsoon.co.uk/bridal-dresses/victoria-bridal-dress/invt/92304241/
I still want to wear purple shoes, mother isn't convinced... but I'll win her over! Taking Monday off, so going to go to Milton Keynes and Bicester Village (there's a Monsoon outlet shop, so really want to go and raid that!)
Off to the Isle of Wight mid-August to go and look at the venue and confirm everything, then in September will be giving notice at the local council, good thing on this front FIL2B has said that he will pay the notice and registrar fees (that's £400 that we've saved before we've started).
The guest list has grown by 2 (we're were only planning for 24 originally), I'm quite happy as the couple mum wants to be there the chap was my dad's best friend and both of them were there for mum when dad died 10 years ago - plus he does remind me of dad a bit, and if it all works it might mean that one aunt (dad's eldest sister) may not come....
Best get on, got some first year student's marks to input.0 -
Tracey- thats good news about the honeymoon, one less thing for you to worry about
Laura- welcome to the thread, we are very chatty and always here to help. Im on a very small budget, so what I have done is allocated realistic estimated costs to things and then try and ensure I stick within that amount- Im doing quite a good job so far!:D
LauraR- thats a good idea about the shirt, im leaving my oh to sort himself, the best man and my dad out, but I have picked the buttons holes and all the men are having ivory roses apart from my oh who is having a pink one as I wanted him to be a bit different!!
Quaveriw (sorry im useless and think you called Mel but cant remember!!:rotfl:)That dress is lovely. I have fushia pink shoes and my mum pulls a face every time they are mentioned but I love them and they are very me! So I say go for purple shoes!!:D0 -
Hi Emma, it's Michelle (so you got three letters).
I like the dress, hoping to try it on again, as was so hot and sweaty on Saturday!0 -
I will try my best to remember that but dont be suprised if I ask again!!
Well make sure you come back an dlet us know how you get on.0 -
Hiya everyone!!
Hope you've all had a lovely Friday. Just think this time next year we'll all begin to feel really excited/nervous Lol.

Roll on this time next year!!
Well ive just ordered this:
http://www.flutterbyweddings.co.uk/products/colourful-vintage-photo-frame-wedding-charm.htm
to go on my bouquet with a picture of my grandparents in (will have to try a tiny picture of them now), i ordered it with an ivory ribbon and pearl and pink bead.
What else can I look at!!:)0 -
That is such a lovely thought Emma.
And I agree - lol I'm in a serious need to find weddingy things to look at lol. I do plan on getting out in the garden with my string this weekend to see how many meters I'd like - and where I'll put them. I just can't wait till I've got my dress. Cause then I'll know if my bangle is right, I can sort out my bouquet and hence MrD's button hole. Then I can take proper photos of them all.0 -
I hope it doesnt take long to come- im not very good at waiting for things to arrive in the post!!
I did put some place name cards in my ohs ebay account the other day- I dont think hes seen tthem yet as he hasnt said anything!
I think ill have to go to Hobbycraft soon to see if they have some ribbon- ill need some thick stuff for the post box, table place etc and then some thin stuff for the name cards as they have holes to tie a ribbon through.0 -
eek... ive just done a budget planner for everything i can think of and it comes up at 3995 1500 more then i planned. i included wedding rings which we already have and all the bits we bought already. also £15each for gifts for parents best man MOH and Ushers. so 9 x £15... i will obviously try get it all cheaper lol. we are going to a venue tomorrow and hopefully we will get something sorted. x0

Hey LauraR- good luck with the venue viewing tomorrow. Im sure the budget will work itself out, Im sure mine is over what we were orignally going to spend but im not too worried at the mo because Ive been buying small bits as I go along with my own money and then with help from my ohs mum and my mum Im sure it will be fine. Are your estimates generous or very realistic? Im sure once you have your venue sorted the budget will fall into place.0
