  • Hi I'm new on here and a complete techno dunce but I want to help search for this flipping word (even though I don't think it will go live till 5.30-6pm ish tonight).

I've clicked on the auto word checker thingy and input my code details and email address but where do I get the line number to start at? I know its something to do with the scrabble link posted elsewhere but I'm being a bit dense. Sorry!

I can be on for the majority of the night, can someone repost the scrabble link and also a list of A-Z with names of people who are currently trying. I don't mind which letters I have x

My arm started to ache so I've knocked up a (very rough & ready - no abuse please) spreadsheet to check instead. If anyone wants to give it a try its at http://pealy.co.uk/Documents/SunWebChecker.xlsm.

Basically you put your registration details etc in the Data tab, the list of words in column A of the Words tab, enter a number for the line you want it to start at (in the data tab) and click the button.

It opens an explorer window and puts the resulting message in column B of the words tab. If it gets anything other than "Please enter 8 valid and unique token codes" it pops up a message box.

To stop it, just close the explorer window and it will error and stop.

Had a few problems with this, but its working now and it's BRILLIANT, thank you.

Is there anyway to quickly take out the uncommon words to speed things up?
  • i swear i bet rock will be able to be used tonight lol

I can't use the checker sadly so I'll still do U's manually. Are others still going to do manual checks too just on the offchance we hit the word first? :)

I was hoping to be back on here after lunch, but my son who started off with a mild temp this morn has gone right down hill so have had him clinging on to me the whole day so we're off to the Docs in a sec.
If nothing has happened on here by his bed time i'll be on to help put in some words!
  • Am starting at A - well done to all of you who have been at this for hours you all deserve to get the hols you want :-)

just thought i would mention that my friend was a non rocker and last night she gave up with the sun, and booked her hols with the mail instead using the codes from on here - she said it was really quick with no hassle and got what she wanted straight away - rockley park for the easter hols week - which wasnt available with the sun !

I don't know any quick way - haven't got time to integrate it with word as well! You can replace the word list with anything you want if you do decide to spell check.
