Vent: City Link

I had a missed delivery card through my door on the 30th December. I rearranged for it to be delivered on the 4th January and made sure someone was in the whole day to take it in. 4th January no City Link  Checked online the next day and it said it would be coming on the 6th Jan, I couldn't be in so left sign in window saying to leave with next door neighbour. Arrived home, no card and no parcel. Checked online and was not saying 7th Jan which is today. No sign of parcel so have been online and now saying 10th Jan  I am fuming. Why did it not come on Tuesday as I arranged for? Also I have emailed their customer services yesterday, no reply. Have been on the phone all today and yesterday all hours trying to get through but says they are taking high amount of calls and to call back. I have done and it says the same on all 3 numbers I have tried. It's ridiculous. I cannot find a number for the Preston depot direct and can't go and pick it up as even if I wanted to I have to let them know I am coming first (I can't anyway as don't have a car).

The thing I am waiting for could be 1 of 3 things, all prizes so I can't even find out who sent it etc. Any other ideas how to get through to them? I am so mad with them at the moment

City link may be having problem with major backlog due to the weather previously. If nearby, you should go to the depot.

I spent ages tracking down my "local"City Link phone number some years ago. Spent some considerable time on the web but eventually got them. Do you know the address in Preston which might help you find a number?

As a company they do seem to be useless and they seem okay with lying to you regarding deliveries.

What is it with these companies, am having similar problems with UPS.

I once has to email Citylink and am still waiting for a reply so don't hold your breath on that one :(
  • The company is Longbridge (Roman Way) in Preston, cannot find a local number only a fax one.

Got through on phone 30 mins ago, was on hold 20 mins, then an answer then guy on the phone kept me on hold almost 10 mins trying to call Preston. He came back and said he couldn't get through as no one was answering. Also he couldn't rearrange delivery as it had been past the 5 days!!! It wasn't when I arranged for redelivery  He said it could arrive anyday, tomorrow, Sunday, Monday? Well they don't deliver Sat or Sun here for a start. He said he's sure it will turn up. I said yes but how am I supposed to be in to get it when I don't know when it's coming and he couldn't give me an answer. I am so annoyed, what am I supposed to do if I miss this one? I don't drive so can't drive to Preston and don't have anyone who can do it for me. Also I can't collect as you have to let them know you are collecting but I cannot get through to Preston depot to do anything.

Citylink reviews not that wonderful. Had same probs myself last 3 days. Told my goods were being delivered by R Mail. Suddenly CL in the picture delivering. Enough to give you nightmares! Why use CL?
3 times delivered to home. Cannot get through on phone to CL as "full up" with messages no one appears to reply to, then cut off without warning. No one answering emails either. Only confirmtion no reply ones.CS nightmare! Arranged delivery to my work place. Even telephoned supplier I ordered from last 2 days and they also said they told them to deliver to my works (magical internal phone number or what)..can't give me the number .. or may give them some welly! No they didn't understand instructions so that not once, not twice but 3 times sent to my address! Now they have left calling card..returned to depot. You must collect. Over 50 miles away. Are they serious? Def some communication probs goin on here in that there isn't any. Anyone got an old phone they can give them or maybe walkie talkie so they can speak to staff in their home building/warehouse/drivers and advise them of requirements. Tannoy perhaps??? No idea what will happen to my pre paid order. The driver is only following schedule office/warehouse has given. Looks like I will have a similar struggle to obtain my goods. So it's get on to supplier tomorrow morning to repeat the mantra.

I too am having problems, I asked about that auto answer, and operator said it should be off by now, and all backlogs cleared by monday. My item was dispatched on 21/12 and they have had it on a van 8 times already and never arrived.

    Try

City Link still have huge backlogs from the bad weather. I had delays in stuff for work that should have been delivered on the 30th Dec, but half came on the 4th Jan and the rest came on the 5th.

When he came on the 4th, I asked where the rest of the stuff was and the man said "god only knows!" and explained the depot was still seriously in chaos with parcels all over the place.
Here I go again on my own....
  • Now saying been returned to sender despite the fact they have only tried to deliver once and have completely ignored my new delivery request date of the 4th January, they haven't even tried to deliver a second time, I am fuming

    This is todays update:

08/01/11 07:17 These goods are in our network. 08/01/11 01:15 These goods have been returned to the sender. 08/01/11 01:15 These goods have been returned to the sender. 07/01/11 10:03 These goods are in our network. 06/01/11 08:54 These goods are in our network. 05/01/11 09:07 These goods are in our network. 04/01/11 08:45 These goods are in our network. 30/12/10 16:46 These goods are in our network.
I requested for it to come 4th January and no one ever came. Called customer services who said he expected it to be with me in the next couple of days. He couldn't arrange a new delivery date as past the 5 days (wasn't when I arranged it for the 4th Jan).

Now what do I do? I don't know what it is as am awaiting on a few prizes that I have won so it could be anything. If I could find the CEO's email address I would so be emailing them, have googled but can't find Alan Brown's email anywhere.

I'm almost scared to leave the house this week as I have a parcel due. It's taken 4 days for a Brabantia bin to get from the West Midlands (3rd Jan) to Belfast (7th Jan) and it was originally due for delivery on Wednesday 5th.

I dread to think how long it will take to get 15 miles down the road to us but a parcel that size won't get left on the doorstep and most of the neighbours work so knowing my luck it will get delivered the very day I'm out!!
