REGARDING NO ID NUMBERS / UNABLE TO LOG ON WEBSITE:
- Just had a reply to my e-mail saying that teserves have not received ID numbers and it's unsure if they will! I am not sure how this is possible as I thought it was obligated/part of WBN but there you go. Obviously they're swamped with e-mails and running out of time now so not sure if it'll happen.
- For as far as I am aware people are preregistered on the website. You should've received an e-mail with activation link regarding this. If not, you're probably a reserve (like me) and we missed out... again. Have not heard back yet if they can preregister reserves list (as it's impossible to register oneself).
That's all I've got. The reason I want to go on the website is so I can find people and events in my area. Does anyone know of things happening in/around London/Hither Green? I know of the Trafalgar Square Event already. Thanks!0 -
I was always a giver but never recieved any activation email... combined with themsending us books we dont ask for that we cant give out and sending books to opposite ends of the country which I have read on the net... seems very badly organised for something so long in the planning..What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

I agree that the whole thing is really badly organised. I applied to be a giver in December as I thought it was a wonderful idea to encourage people to read.
My books were only delivered on Wednesday there was no publicity material supplied so I have been unable to advertise that I will be giving the books out at my local library. I received the e-mail regarding registering on the WBN site but after 6 attempts yesterday I gave up and when I tried today I have been denied access.
There were all kinds of events promised in the initial e-mails but it appears the only event is the launch tonight in London not much use to those of us north of Watford Gap.:hello: N:hello:A :hello:N :hello:A :hello:M :hello:A :hello:G :hello:S :hello:0 -

Thanks for this info. I too was on the reserve list so have no numbers and my emails kept coming back undelivered.
I have read somewhere that it is possilble to obtain your own numbers on bookcrossing.com.......may try this out.0 -
I have received no activation code for the website; requesting a reminder of the password and the activation code have resulted in no emails despite numerous attempts. (I have been a giver from the beginning, not a reserve)
I did however receive the email with my ID numbers overnight, so have managed to write these in today.
Was also disappointed (had a major moan on the FB page) about the lack of publicity material. There is a poster to download now, but it's pretty generic. I actually took their logo/photo from the FB page and made my own posters to let people know my plans.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls
