What password? Is there a letter in the box of books with this information? I have had no info since being told my books were ready for collection.0 -
I have finally got an email from WBN with a link in asking me to click on it to activate my account. It also gives me details of how to log in. I have activated and finally logged in on the 5th or 6th attempt - I kept getting a server error (maybe due to traffic) or a message saying that my log in details were not recognised, but I kept trying and finally it worked.
The thing is now that I am not sure what else I am supposed to do on the website - I can't help thinking that it could be so much clearer and better designed. The email describes their great aspirations for the website, but somehow I can't see that happening unless they put some serious work into redesigning it.
The email also says this (hidden below T&C at the bottom!):
Very soon we will be sending you further details about your 48 World Book Night ID numbers, one of which you should ideally write into the inside back cover of each of your books. This will enable us and you to track the individual literary journey of each book you give away.
I also noticed there is a bit on the website about 'bookcrossing' which is where you can track the journey of a book as it passed on from one person to another by logging it's unique code on the website. I can't help thinking that this has been so badly described that many people will miss this bit and hand the books out before they finally get the codes through!
I haven't even got my books yet as I chose a local village library as a collection point and it is only open a few hours a week so I keep missing it. I must try and remember to get there when it opens at 2pm today as I won't have any books to give out otherwise!0 -
I have already handed out a few of my books.
They should have given us our ID numbers sooner. Seems poorly organised.[STRIKE]30:22[/STRIKE]

Perhaps this is where I'm going wrong - I haven't received any email asking me to "activate my account". I've tried to register, but my email is apparently already used. I've tried my email with all possible passwords, to no avail.
And still no numbers to write inside the books. They're simply not going to get written in if I don't have them soon.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

The T&C say not to do it until Saturday  I'm collecting mine Saturday & taking them straight to Macmillan on Monday as they're not open at the weekend - I'm sure I've already said that
When I try & log on it says invalid token.0 -

Apparently we have to write unique codes in all 48 copies of our books?! That's crazy. The codes are like 8 digits long, and they want us to write it in 48 different books... Urgh! I can barely write down a phone number without having to check it a couple of times to make it correct, let alone writing a different code 48 times!
I think they're trying too hard with the traceability of the books... Which is a shame, because they should've had a different method, e.g. one number per user, and a pack of 48 stickers provided to stick on the inside page!
