Champagne Socialist as has already been said. Just don't get me started on Bono!

Billy Bragg split the proceeds of selling his first company between his employees (including Phil Jupitus who was on the payroll then.) He's not above anyone being rewarded for hard work as long as 'everyone gets a tickle'. Could anyone else on this thread say they'd do the same?

For the record his wife is an interior designer which probably has a lot to do with how smart the house looks plus they have a couple of kids and dog(s?) so not such an excessive size really all things considered.

Billy Bragg is a lyrical genius and all-round top bloke.

    ....and International Drug Dealer.

What I despise about Bono, is his hectoring about everything from poverty to bankers while using tax loopholes in Ireland, then once they were removed moving his royalty payments to Holland where they attract next to zero tax.

Not disbelieving you but what company was that, I though they worked at the same place I was not aware it was Braggs company?

But fair play if he did, I know of rich people who are going to give everything to charity when they peg it.
Kind of makes it hard to see the difference in socialism and capitalism when both are earning and donating?

Dunno the name of the operation, if you're really interested I'll look it up (autobiography at home)?

OK pet hate. For things like Live8 etc. Rich well known acts Ideas of donating is not charging to play.
Then asking people vastly poorer than them to donate.

How about we all go to work for a hour for free and they donate to charity for a change. :)

Wait a minute, so someone who has a few quid is not allowed to feel empathy for the less well off members of society?

If I need someone to stand up for me I'll ask thanks........:D

Did you watch the programme about Live Aid the other night? They featured the bit where O'nob jumped off stage to dance with an audience member meaning they couldn't play their biggest song.

I am sure most of the UK are socialists if it just meant feeling empathy for those poorer than us.

That would make me a socialist, I feel dirty and used.:)
