Just popped on to say thanks for the tip, we were heading over to Lidls and we were lucky enough to pick up their last battery charger (just hope it works ok) :j It will replace our caravan one which looks identical and conked out last year but cost us 3 times that!

And picked up some of the -60 stuff in anticipation of another foot of snow...;)

That is very kind of you.

    Thanks.

Picked up some of the screen wash last night, they also had loads of their 5ltr £1.99 WS screenwash next to it although the pack didn't specify the freezing point on these, so I'm not sure if it's any good or not.

The Lidl W5 screen wash doesn't appear to contain anything to stop it freezing. Seems fine for regular summer use.

The £4.99 -60 screen wash comes around about once a year and I always avail myself of some when it does.

I get a twice weekly email from Lidl with their forthcoming special offers listed, as I suspect Inactive who started this thread does as well.

    Of greedy bast8rds...
They used to do that years ago with some of their everyday products (think beans/tinned tomatoes/bread) as apparently corner shop/takeaway/cafe owners used to go in a buy loads of one particular product and almost cleared the shelves.

My local Lidl has a sign up explicitly banning traders from raiding the shelves. I'd hope that it also applies to ebayers raiding the stock bins of jacks and chargers.

This used to happen when I worked for a now defunct discount supermarket chain.

Corner shop owners used to come in and clear the shelf of the cheap bread and cheap beans. And when there was promos on like bogof on Pringles, etc, they would take a trolley load of those too.

We had no signs up but we took pleasure in refusing them a few times.

FYI: Since this thread has been reopened already:

We bought the battery charger mentioned in this thread and discovered two problems when we came to use it recently (we didn't need it in January as we expected to).

    1. It will only charge if you are over 7.5V. Ours was less than that due to being unable to use it due to illness.
    2. Ours didn't work at all anyway.

If anyone bought one and hasn't tested it yet it may be worth doing so before its 6 months since buying it.
