Why is the Lidl screenwash at £4.99 flagged as a top pick?

I buy 2.5l from the 99p store and it didn't freeze during the coldest December for 100 years! And it does the job just fine, keeping my screen clear.
  • Thanks for the heads up :)

As an aside: Do remember to use screenwash all year round as the active ingredient (alcohol or meths iirc) keeps the bugs under control in the nice warm environment under the bonnet. There was a news item about Legionella bacterium being found in washer bottles during last Summer. 10% cleans the screen more effectively than just water too.

Good for you, you will not be interested in this quality product then.

Nobody is forced to buy it.
  • I'll be getting me some of that trigger spray de-icer too from Lidl today. 750ml for £1.99. I paid £1.50 for 500ml at Asda last month, CarPlan make.

I'll pick some up from our pound shop and give it a try. They usually have a shelf full in there.
  • Only the quick and the greedy in Lidl this morning

I wanted to get a a trolly Jack, so popped into local store on way to work to be see a family pushing 2 shopping trollys worth of car jacks to their car.
Guess what none left in store ...

    Ebayers or similar I suppose.

Lidl might want to consider a max number of items per person on their offers
(at least it might slow them down having to go thru the till 10 or more times)

i had some -30 halfrauds screen wash and i went to fill my bottle up and the 5 litres of screen wash was frozen!!!!!!!! i took it back and they said i shouldnt have left it out side

    vodka for the win

Which Halfords product is this? Double Concentrate only goes down to -26°c and comes in 1 or 2.5ltr bottles. I haven't seen any thing stronger in my local ones.

They used to do that years ago with some of their everyday products (think beans/tinned tomatoes/bread) as apparently corner shop/takeaway/cafe owners used to go in a buy loads of one particular product and almost cleared the shelves.

  • Just popped on to say thanks for the tip, we were heading over to Lidls and we were lucky enough to pick up their last battery charger (just hope it works ok) :j It will replace our caravan one which looks identical and conked out last year but cost us 3 times that!

And picked up some of the -60 stuff in anticipation of another foot of snow...;)
