Where's my post???

I know we had some really bad weather before Christmas but it disappeared over a week ago where I live. So where is my post???? I've barely had a thing since Christmas eve and I have two parcels with a depatch date of 20/22nd December and three on 30th December that still haven't turned up. It's like my house is in some parallel world and my postman cannot find me.....
Cannot believe they have all gone missing.
Is anyone else still having problems or am I just being really impatient?

I know how you feel! My post stopped turning up after the first lot of snow in December, the snow has all gone and melted away twice and still hardly a thing from the postman. Ordered something 23rd Nov and it finally turned up 3 days ago!MFW 2020 #111 Offset Balance £69,394.80/ £69,595.11

I have had things that were posted after new year turn up but then things that were posted before xmas have still not turned up - I am assuming there must be a backlog somewhere. I have some things I ordered off ebay that have been nearly a month late now I feel bad doing an item not received dispute if Royal Mail have them.
If anyone who works for Royal Mail could let me know if it's likely older parcels are stuck somewhere, or if I have received parcels posted after this means they are never arriving it would me much appreciated.
I guess we all need to be patient whilst they work through the backlog x0 -
Took me 3.5 weeks to get one parcel I had ordered well before Christmas.
If it takes more then 28 days I beleieve it's classed as a lost parcel and you can request a refund.
But I do know that when the snow hit, the Royal Mail Prioritised the Mail... so after the snow the new items got delivered THEN then backlog was dealt with!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. Have you though of actually asking Royal mail? That'll probably be more use than posting here.0 -
I don't think the post is isolated to your area. I read this thread last night but didn't comment as I thought the late Xmas cards we got on New Years Eve were just a glitch even though two other cards posted at the same time at the same post box in England arrived in Belfast a week before Xmas.
In the last 5 minutes however I've just received a piece of mail dated 21st December. Nothing special there except it's an identical letter to one my husband received over a week ago. I can understand the odd bit of post getting missed due to the weather but when items that were posted at the same time arrive on 2 different dates, that's a good un!
P.S. no point in contacting Royal Mail in my opinion as they'll just blame the weather. The weather is a factor but it doesn't explain everything!0 -
I had 2 items despatched from Play.com on the 21st of december one came last Thursday and I am still waiting on the other one now, I wouldn't mind so much but the parcel I'm waiting on was for a birthday present for the 2nd of January I was hoping it would come this week and I've been talking to our postman all week and he's already been today with no parcel from play.com but all the other parcels that I ordered this week from amazon. He did say that they are working Sunday to clear the back log so I'm not sure if it will come any time soon.

Maybe no one loves you anymore?

No point in asking Royal Mail unless there is a tracking number or other method proving it was delivered IMO. Would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack?! This is a 'vent' board though so I was just using it to let off steam not ask for advice
I have found out at least one item has been delivered elsewhere/pilfered as it was courier delivered and left in a 'secure place'. I don't have anywhere secure outside of my house its all open plan onto public path
Glad to see its not just me though, I think I'll sit tight for a few days longer for the remaining items. There must be one huuuuuuge pile of parcels somewhere though!Have the mods deleted it? (ah! not that type of post)
