My friend has just been on the phone to me . She left her car in at 7.30am this morning and has just been to pick it up , the repair has been done , car is going a treat and she happily paid the £70.
However , although the mechanic told her yesterday that the car needed a new drivers side wishbone , when she picked it up today and read the receipt it says he fitted a new front suspension arm....
Is this the same thing but just called a different name ? Sorry
Same thing, different name. wishbone goes from the front chasis to the bottom of the front suspension.
If your friend looks under the wheel arch they should be able to see a nice shiny black piece which is the new bit fitted - it will go from the bottom of the front shock, behind the wheel, to under the car. It should stand out a mile as it will be nice shiny and clean compared to the rest of the car!0 -

Thanks jackinbox99 - i relayed your message to her and she looked and can see the new part !
All sorted then .
Thanks again to all who offered advice. The loopy one has gone :j0 -
One thing I would say is that if she has replaced one side, the other side will more than likely also need replacing! So keep an eye on it.0

Its a wishbone and at most is two nuts and a couple of bolts. They're really hard to do wrong.0 -
probably 4 bolts max i would imagine 2 on the pivots and two on ball joint
only about a 15 minute job but £30 sounds pretty good to me0 -
Excellent price! Cant go wrong.0

15 mins, you can come round and do mine for 15 mins labour.
Takes me that long to jack it up and get the wheel off, and
then get it on the axle stands out of the garage, let alone try to split the balljoint, then the rest of it.0 -
rock on good saving!0
