    Hi Beardy.
The DVB 300 does have a electronic anode according to the documentation. Will have a check with our guys tomorrow as to how it links in to the alarm. May well be worth checking it out, as per the instructions on P5 of the article below.

Cheers, that would be good. I'll have to have another look as well. The only wire going into the thing is the GT3x wire that I can see, but I'll have a more thorough look when I get home. Maybe the solar coil version has an electric anode (mine doesn't have solar coil)?

There's defo no wires to the tank, except the GT3 temp sensor, and no mention of an electric anode in the manual I've got (maybe that was a later feature added?).

I've done some digging through the settings on the Rego, and the setting under "5.13 Extra sensor/Anode in operation" says :-

    "Extra Sensor

    GT3 GT5 ELA"

so I guess this means it thinks I have GT3 and GT5 (which I do), don't have GT4 (also correct), but that I do have ELA (Electric Anode?), which I don't. I can't figure out any way to change that from the menu though. It's got either Confirm or Return.

This seems to have only appeared since you put the H10 unit on. Try disconnecting the H10 and a restart of the pump. Will try and get some more info tomorrow. Let me know if ELA still appears in the menu after the restart.

It is quite possible that ETA is the H10 unit, that is being shown

Thanks. I'll try that when I get home tonight. The previous comment about entering factory mode. Is that different from I/S mode?

If it is detecting the H10, then at least I know not to go into the external sensors menu whilst the H10 is connected. The alarm didn't appear when the H10 was connected (it was about 2 weeks later), but I do remember going into that menu a couple of days ago (possibly a few hours before the alarm appeared) so maybe that kicked it into thinking it had ELA attached. I didn't pay much attention to it at the time as I assumed ELA was the external alarm connection, but now I think the same as you that it's the electrical anode.

Yes.it is more advanced. My fault, as should have said reset from the I/S menu. The factory settings allow more alterations, e.g peak DHW temp and time, but was thinking about too many settings at the time. Sign of old age

I am still awaiting clarification on the ELA, plus the anode alarm, but they are quite busy in the office, so it may take a day or so.

ELA still appears after disconnecting H10 and restarting the pump :-(

I'll try tomorrow going to factory defaults. Didn't have enough time this evening to note down all the existing settings.

    Cheers

Reset to factory from I/S mode, and set all the settings back as they were (It was only P2 with compressor in 5.10 and DHW temp in 2.3 that I needed to change, all my other settings are actually factory).

ELA doesn't appear in Menu 5.13 any more, so I think that's solved it. The proof will be if the alarm doesn't come on overnight (like it has done the last few nights).

I then went into that menu with the H10 attached and it still didn't appear, and I couldn't get it to do it (tried a few times, reset the pump with the H10 attached etc.), so I'm happy it wasn't the H10 that caused it. God knows what did.

Thanks for your help, as always.

PS When I reset to factory it didn't reset my DHW timer settings from 4.3, which I was pleased about, as they are a bit of a faff to set.

My DHW dropped 0.6c in 8mins yesterday, so about the same as you. The cycle is 13-15 Mins to heat up from 50c to 54c and then approx 2Hrs to cool back down to 50c (assuming no DHW is used). I'm not happy with how quickly my DHW cools either.
Have you still got the recirculating DHW pump on and did you try without it for a few days to identify it as the culprit or rule it out.

At the moment you're doing 15 minutes something like 12 times a day so 3 hours a day to heat your water. At 1.7kw ground loop that is 5kwh so a minimum of 50p and likely more depending on your tarrif.

lovesgshp, do you know how the cooling time compares to your own.

Mine is not a consistent figure, either in time to heat up or cool again. The pasteurisation cycle last night was very slow and I reduced the UFH flow and then the towel rail flow, which seems to have made a difference. Might monitor it for a little while before getting the 3 way valve replaced so I have a baseline to compare against.
