We have arrived back from our stay with family over the winter. In our absence our heat pump, in our holiday let,  had the room temperature turned down to 10°C. I turned it up and the heat pump did make a sound as though it was working

I've been back in there today, a week later and the place is bitterly cold, when I attempted to change settings on the heat pump it hasn't turned on heat or hot water, both are cold. I put it back to factory settings and still nothing happened.

Can anyone give any advice? The light is on to show the heat pump is turned on, nothing more. I increased the water pressure as that was very low.

    Hi Pooh,
A few questions if I may.
    1. What does the display say if you press the Info button?
    2. Are there any alarms on the unit?
    3. Did you factory reset when in CUSTOMER2 (K2) or Installer (IS) mode? If the latter then after factory resetting did you go in and select the temperature sensors in use? It may have defaulted to GT3 (internal tank), not GT3x (external tank) or vica-versa, and no room thermostat, for example. See option 5.13 when in Installer mode if you did this.
    4. What is the temp setting in 1.1 and 1.2 and 1.10?
    5. What are the current temps in Menu 3.

    Thanks
    Beardy

Thank you very much for your help. I already had the unit booked for a service next week and never expected it but to be working.

I'm back at home now but week look in the morning. I do know that when I pressed the info button it was a foreign word and I couldn't go any further.

I'll check for alarms on the unit tomorrow.

I did the factory reset in K2 mode.

  • That sounds like it has completely reset itself and defaulted to Swedish which is how it comes from the factory, but it shouldn't have reset that if you defaulted it in k2, only if you'd done it in i/s. Anyway menu 5.8 in the installer mode will set that back, so you can then see what's what.
If it has completely reset, then it's likely it's lost all of its settings, including the sensors in 5.13.

Take a copy of the manual.

    3-phase incorrect 260309
    High HTF delta-250129. Nñ
HTF out Max -dozens of them

    1.1-4
    1.2-0
    1.10- 20

  • Thanks Pooh,
Sorry, I should have been clearer about the alarms. It was only recent ones I was interested in (i.e. since last time it worked). Apologies for not making that clear. Check what the clock is set to (Menu 10 if it doesn't display already) and then look for alarms with a date (the 6 digits is the date) within the last say 2 weeks of that.
1.1, 1.2 and 1.10 look fine to me
Sperrzeit means "off" basically. It doesn't fire up if you just press the On/Off button does it?
If not can you get me the temps from Menu 3.

I tried turning it off and on a couple of days ago and nothing happened. I'll try again today, just in case...
And I'll get the temps for you.

Cool. When you do it, switch it off with the button on the panel (which puts it into a sort of standby mode and the Green On/Off light should flash slowly) and then completely disconnect power to the unit by switching off the breaker (you'll see the Green on/Off light go off) which will force a total reboot of the Rego.

My husband went there and returned off the heat pump. Left it off while he was working in there. Switched it back on and now it is working..
    Magic!

It was off a lot longer than when I switched it off a few days ago.

Thank you very much for your assistance Beady.
