Its actually been colder here the last night or two but as you say it seems to be working for now .
Thanks for your thoughts0 -
I've tried to read this forum before posting as I know this has been raised previously. and by me, but I received my last 90 day electric bill today and it was over £1300 pounds!! I have a 4 bed detached above average sized house and I am electric only. I have 2x electric floors (bathroom/orangery) and lots of devices on standby/charging and PCs, SKY boxes etc - guilty - but reading previous posts it sounds like it could be the cold weather and my IVY Greenl.HT C7M G3.
It was serviced in Oct 2020. Any pointers on the settings I need to check ?

When you say you've got 2 electric floors, do you know what the kW is on those? Those could consume a lot of power. Our garden room takes a lot of heating in winter what with all the glass, but fortunately it's UFH off the GSHP. If yours is similar, but running straight electric that could be burning quite a lot of power?
The devices on standby will be a drop in the ocean compared to the heatpump and electric floor, so I wouldn't worry about those. For example Sky Q consumes approx 15watts on standby, so 0.3kWH per day
What are the operating hours on the heatpump (menus 7.1 to 7.4). Take those, and send them and then take them again in a day so you can see the difference.0 -
10csm said:I need help with our Greenline IVT. Yesterday there was planned electrical works up the road and we had no power for 4 hours. When the power came back on we had the below alarm stating 3 phase incorrect connection, we have 3 phase coming into our house as it is a large house. I checked all the trip switches, rebooted the pump, turned off all the switches and all back on again and after 4 attempts every time I get same message. So I phoned southern electric who said maybe one of the phases is down, they sent a guy out last night and he checked our electricity and stated we were definitely receiving all 3 phases, there advice is to get an electrician! So I am trying to get an electrician in. But does anyone know why this would happen? Also in 12 years I have never had this error, so clearly something they have done has caused this, does anyone know why or have any advice?
Any update on this? What fixed it (assuming it has been).

beardymarrow thanks for the reply. My kWh is around 19-20k a year, so not that different to yours. Which is in a way is good to know. Reading other threads, I was under the impression that the GHSP is energy efficient but it appears to consume a lot of energy to me
Underfloor heating - I'm not sure of the usage. I did turn then off, but then my wife said the rooms are to cold, so ££££
I'll take the readings as mentioned.0 -
Well, they are efficient in that on an e9 you get 9kw out for every 2kw in (in fairly good circumstances) , but the compressor is still a hungry beast and when it's really cold the additional heat can be on a fair bit (more often if the heatpump itself is undersized) and that can consume 9kw itself. Hell of a lot better than just having all electric heaters though 😁
FYI I've got an e9 in the 5 bed, but no other heating so the c7 you have in your 4 bed (plus the electric zones) is about the same (all other things being equal).0 -
Hi beardymarrow, so I have my readings (the readings for 7.2 and 7.3 were the same and I don't have a 7.4)
11/03 15:42 -28529h 31% DWH 69% RAD 1190h
12/03 09:25 -28520h

If they are then it looks like 9Hrs usage in the first 17Hrs and then 31Hrs usage in the next 72. Seems about right to me. If 7.3 is not going up, then you're not using any additional heat, so that's good too. Weird that you don't have 7.4. That would be "Distribut. add. heat DHW-Rad in % 7.4", so not relevant if that isn't going up at the moment, anyway.1 -
They are def in the correct order
