    Oh pawpurrs, they're both lovely!

I LOVE your style! The roses round the door of your house and your little beach. The inside is very reminiscent of my old house - wood burner, beams, bedroom with dormer in the eaves! From the back garden, it looks virtually identical! It's very romantic :)

New house is lovely too! Very similar taste to yours (no surprise as you're buying it!)

You're very nearly there then Dasnookster :) If they're happy to go for Monday, sounds like you're sorted.

    Good Luck for Monday!

I'm dead jealous of all you people who managed to exchange today!

We've been ready to exchange & complete since the start of September but there is just endless faffing about at the top of the chain.

When we put in our original offer we made it quite clear that the lease on our current house expires on 1st December and we have new childcare arrangements from then. We are also going to my brothers wedding in New Zealand for most of December so any date later than the 24th November would be a no go.

Over the last three weeks we've done everything possible to get things sorted and every day since last thursday we were told that we would be exchanging today for a 21st Nov completion.

Today was the deadline for extending our lease and as nothing was happening by 4pm we had to extend it for a further two months.

Our vendors have been very supportive but the rest of the chain have done little or nothing to try and help things along.

Sod's Law says that they will all now want to exchange on Monday, but unless they can compensate for the cost of the extra rent they can all go and whistle until January!

8th December. Wouldn't surprice me if the guy at the top changed his mind again though, despite being contractually obliged

We exchanged today finally. I was even told at lunchtime that there was little confidence of it happening at all. All because of 'superfreak' at the top of the chain. Word from his EA is that he isn't happy now because he didn't even want to sell his house.

Did he sell it by accident? Weirdo!

I just want to sleep now.

Well done! Sometimes I wonder why anyone ever moves house. And what is this thing of everyone having to pull a hissyfit & threaten to back out right up to completion?? It's tiring just reading about it, never mind going through it. Have decided I'm never going to move again! I mean house , not just in general!

So far we've had completion dates for the 2nd, 9th, 17th, 24th and now the 28th November. I'm losing the will to live. We seem the only ones who are being flexible and there's gonna be no more Mr nice guy and I'm so tempted to threaten to pull out AAAHHHH!!!!

Well.....I finally exchanged yesterday!!!!! Really went down to the wire though and I think my solicitor lost most of his hair in the process trying to deal with my buyer's solicitor.

Anyway completion set for 17th Nov....just need to pack superquick now!

    The relief is unreal
