I don't seem to be able to buy a house this year :wall: Been trying since March!
March!! Oh my goodness and I thought I was having a tough time - get the red as well, quick!!You never know how far you can fly, till you spread your wings.0 -

This is MSE! Nearly half price in the Wine Fair and £20 off voucher when you spend £50.
Last bottle thoughMy sister in law and her husband are having their kitchen done and have 'eaten' with us a few times recently

I sold a month ago and am renting now. Trying to exchange for December today. I forget the episodes of the last two days are just part of an ongoing saga! If I thread them all together, I'd cry.

Mine makes no sense at all, selling empty property (previously let out), to a 'cash' buyer (to let out) who suddenly needed a loan!. So no chain here. Agreed price 14th August, all surveys done August. Still no date, just the run around from dodgy EA and converyancers who don't like each other. I wish I could afford to pull the plug. Buyer owns EA franchise, well dodgy.0

Well my nerves are well and truly shot at today, had to take day off work to try and sort out this mess...
Found out that replies were sent to my buyers solicitor 3 weeks ago but they have been sat on them since then.
Anyway, to cut a long story short(ish) exchange is not going to happen today and so the date is being put back to 17th Nov. Also found out my vendor has lost their removal slot for 10th so it wasn't going to happen anyway. Meanwhile, EA has relayed this back to my buyer who is not happy that 10th is not going ahead and is thinking of pulling out completely!!!! How unreasonable?! she hasnt even signed her contract yet?
I am so stressed, the chain might collapse completely because of their faffing about and then at last minute they wanted heaven and earth moved to exchange, complete and 4 of us in chain to book removals and move out in with 3 days notice....where is that wine Doozergirl (and its only lunchtime)0 -
Sorry to hear that Carter
Don't worry about your buyer. I'm sure if she knows exactly what the issues are and that they are only minor, she will hang on. People get upset but generally won't cut their nose to spite their face. They just feel helpless enough that the only thing they can do is frighten people by threatening to pull out.
We exchanged today finally. I was even told at lunchtime that there was little confidence of it happening at all. All because of 'superfreak' at the top of the chain. Word from his EA is that he isn't happy now because he didn't even want to sell his house.
Did he sell it by accident? Weirdo!
I just want to sleep now.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

You bet. Not quite as old though. Double Fronted Georgian object complete with 1980s stone cladding! I'm going to go and rip it off with my bare hands the way I feel right now!
Congratulations to you too! I'd throw another party, but I think I used all my energy last night!
Look! 2000 posts Me! :j
(More excited about that than the house right now! :rotfl:)Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

The Georgian bit sounds lovely, but stone cladding  ,
One day I dream to own a beautiful Georgian Rectory. Our new house is similar to the last, timberframed old cottage, if you fancy a nose

Congratulations Doozergirl!
Our dates have been changed again, hoping to exchange Monday now and a new date for completion set for 16th November.
Some people are so funny - ours has been going on since August and now its coming to a head, the person at the top of the chain has complained that its all happening too soon????You never know how far you can fly, till you spread your wings.0
