Turning into a nightmare

I just need to vent my frustration of the past few days...
I signed my contracts for the sale and purchase of my properties in October. My conveyancer orginally told me we could be ready for completion by 27th October. I later found out my vendor couldnt make that date as they were away, 3rd November was no good for their vendor so...it was agreed that 10th Nov was good for all parties.
Well this week I have been waiting patiently for the go ahead from the solicitors that contracts have exchanged so I can book my removal firm. They need a weeks notice and I will be charged a fee if I need to reschedule. No word from solicitors only that they are chasing my buyer's solicitor for the deposit and exchange of contracts.
Today I get a call from my vendors EA saying they need to book removals etc and have been informed all but my buyer has signed contracts! Furthermore when further enquiries are made, my buyer's solicitor says they are waiting for replies to their enquiries from my solicitor yet he is saying he answered them all. I NEED TO SCREAM!!!
If I dont hear we have exchanged by tomorrow then 14th is off for me - I cant get removals and time off work. Surely I am not being unreasonable by saying this? I have been more than patient and flexible on the date up to now.
Ok rant over, I will go and breath into a brown paper bag....

I totally sympathise with you, mine has been going on since August and we were supposed to be exchanging this week with a view to completing 10th November, but it hasn't happened - more enquiries and hitches surfacing every day!!! Our sellers are going on holiday for a fortnight after 10th, so its looking likely to be at least December before ours goes through now.
I think I'll join you with that brown paper bag........... and breathe.........You never know how far you can fly, till you spread your wings.0 -
I'm not even going to start on what has been happening to me. You couldn't make it up.
Sod, the paper bag. I've got a bottle of Oxford Landing!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Can I join this "club" ???!!
You have my total sympathy!! All those dates sound very familiar....none worked for us either so far!!
Going away in the morning for a couple of nights ... decided that waiting in all day, every day for THE phone call is not good for my health!!
You know what they say ..."it'll happen.." ... it WILL!! (Won't it??!!) Good luck everyone!!0 -
on my chain, four families moving on one day. we were all too superstitous to contact removal firms before we exchanged. we exchanged on a friday afternoon, 10 days before completion. So we all had a mad scramble to get removal firms booked and we all managed it. Don't get worked up about removal bookings, provided you don't move on a friday you'll always find someone.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Of course, I've still got a smallish glass left in this bottle, otherwise I can open some red? There is fizzy stuff in the fridge but maybe I'll wait for exchange for that!
I don't seem to be able to buy a house this year :wall: Been trying since March!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
