if people spent half as much time applying for jobs, as they did complaining in this thread most would almost certainly already be employed.

    Another benefits hater.....

If you were treated in the way that OP describes it, would you just tolerate it and shrug your shoulders? Saying, that you deserve it just for finding yourself out of work (especially when you are starting a new job soon anyway).
If you were seeking treatment at an NHS hospital, would you tolerate being treated in such a way?

I'll say it again. Disgraceful behaviour here by the two members of staff at the Jobcentre involved.
They don;t always behave above-board you know.

I will add that there are helpful staff there too. But that is not the point here.

It's funny because when I was on the dole a few years back, just for a few months, everyone was fine until the last time I went in and said that I was going to be signing off. The woman treated me like dirt, a face like thunder. She took my signing off details and supposedly processed them. A week later I got a letter saying that I hadn't signed on or something or other and my money was withheld. I went down there and they investigated and said that she had forgotten to put it through. I had to appeal to get my final money.

I always wondered if that woman hated her job and took it out on me because I had a better job to go to and she was still left there. Even if that wasn't true it made me feel better!
  • Hey guys just want to say thanks for the comments everyone's in titled to their opinion, on this subject.

I can only say i was being honest about the matter, 4 weeks ago i praised like i said best Jobsearch i have seen in ages, to the point where he put a few comments about my Jobsearch when i left i shook his hand because he was a good guy who respected what i had been doing to look for work.

I went away from that meeting with my head held high telling everyone about the praise i had received. The next day i got a phone call to say i have been offered a position which i accepted.

I kept applying for jobs like your suppose to do, looking back on the day they must have been having some sort of inspection going on because while i was sat down they kept sending people away stating they have a adviser meeting at a later time today they sent home about 10 to 15 people home while i was their.

They never sent letters out to anyone so it was decided on the day, the first adviser sent me down to see another adviser, who like i said interrogated me, i never felt so low in my life like that day walking the 5 miles home.

Its definitely lit the fire for me now i will never walk into that place again after the next time i go in which will my last full sign on then i will be signing off the week after.

The Jobcentre is a great place for lazy people, and total humiliation and torture for others who want to work, i'm in the category that finds the place a humiliation and torture just walking to the place makes me paranoid thinking people might think I'm going their.

PS the Factory job he told to apply for i called they told me the position was ongoing not permanent maybe a couple a days a week, and that's the position he wanted to apply for.

I think the Jobcentre must get a commission sending people to that job knowing they will work 2 days a week which would be 16 hours so they can't sign while working so you become stuck.
