• Hi Kat - no she doesn't drive but I will ask her to contribute a bit towards the petrol. She left college last summer and works part time with extra hours whenever possible while looking for full time work. She does pay me for her keep which is really helpful. However and this is the downside financially she does have a very good social life which means she never has any spare cash!!!!

• Hi DF

I am sitting in my hotel room on their iMac which is lovely as I don't have to be at my session until 10 am. I spent £6.31 yesterday in the supermarket for a salad for last night and yoghurt for breakfast this morning. I felt a right old cheapskate yesterday with my little flask on the train but it saved me buying expensive coffee and the small profit I make will go straight to MBNA when I get my expenses. I'm going to refill with free coffee before I leave the hotel - I can't believe I'm doing this as i was the queen of the coffee shop before LBM.

Tomorrow I'm spending the night in London with a colleague so will probably have to spend my allowance on a glass or two of wine.

Do you have all your cards online - I still get one or two paper statements because I've hidden the cards from myself and now haven't a clue where they are!!!!

I'm a bit fed up about the cost of fuel as I had budgeted £50 for the month and the warning light came on last Friday. I don't need a car this week because I'm away but I don't want to spend more than that next month. I am going to have to tell my daughter that all the lifts I give her are going to be cut back - she's 19 by the way!!

Have a good DFW day and I'm going to do my best to not spend any money at all and will nick some fruit from the free lunch for my train journey home - I need to lose weight anyway.

Good morning PBH :)
I would do exactly the same re coffee in flask - they are a complete rip off and sometimes don't even taste that nice depending on the company doing them. Well done for changing your ways - just think when you are free of the debt you will be able to decide if you want to pay for one with your own cash and may even say no!

I can't tell you how much I appreciate the little things like that now. Thinking things through, do I really need/want this etc. Being in debt and working my way out has given me a completely new look on life which I prefer to my old ways. I know what matters now. :)

Looking forward to seeing how much you may have left towards debt.

I have everything online now yes. I have no paper statements come through for the fear of someone seeing them, I drove myself daft with the worry before. I pay them online and do all my banking online too so I can update my spreadsheets every day. I like it like that so I can keep an eye on everything. When I make an over payment I can then see how much it saves me in the long run. It's what keeps me motivated, without seeing it daily I would "forget" for a while which means I will have the blasted debt longer.

It was all my own doing getting into this mess and I will get myself out of it.

The cost of fuel is an ongoing issue here on a few people's diaries. It's ridiculous and I hate it. It's costing me over £100 a month just to get to work and drop the kids off so I can work! My hard earned wages going to getting me there!!!! Not on. We don't get fuel allowance like some people do either :( So I am with you there! Lol. I'd mention to your daughter if you give her X amount of lifts a week then can she give you X amount of petrol while costs are so high. At 19 I am sure she will see the benefit of this, rather than paying taxi's busses everywhere ;)

Have a good time on your business trip and safe journey

• Well done paying more off this close to payday :T I donn't think I can do anymore until the first, especially with it being half term. I am so jealous of people still making payments at the end of their months, even small ones :D

• Right - get this. Was fuming but took action immediately to my satifaction :)

Tesco limit £2500.
Over paid to keep me under limit this month - balance was 2499.69. Only just under, but under.

New balance comes through with over limit fee of £12! New balance is 2511.69!

Checked wasn't delayed from last month as I knew was over then - nope! Was charged duly then which I did know anyway but sanity check.

Phoned them up (bolchy young lad) for the to tell me I have been fined as over limit. I asked him limit - confirmed £2.5k. Asked him new balance. Confimed above. Asked him new balance minus OL fee. He confirmed. I asked if minus fee = over limit = "Oh I see your point Miss. Erm, Mrs and get it sorted! We will refund you the money.

Was fuming. I better not get a letter!

Need to check they have done so.

Also closed account whilst was on - credit limit reduces to what balance is each month and card can't be used. Feels good!!!! Wish Cap1 would do that too. Robbing b@st@rds.
