My pensioner father received an ipad for Xmas. I think it works well, but is a bit locked down for me.
Honestly, how do you rate screen response on the Archos 70, and the smaller screen? Is it just as usable?. I was tempted to get the 101, if I can find stock.
this is where i got mine from. http://www.thurgo.co.uk/archos-c344.html
i have upgraded mine and installed the andriod market app and have to say it is every bit as good as an ipad.
with the benefit of
usb port can connect external drives.
micro sd card slot.
Has hdmi port
easy file allocation.
not tied to itunes
can install any of the android apps.
and half the price of an ipad.

You missed the point.
If you're trying to argue that people with netbooks are happier than people with Ipads, then you're way off the mark. And the facts bear that out.
I've used many netbooks, and after about a month they start to wear you down. They're slow and clunky, menus / task bars take up half the screen. Only good thing about netbooks is the price.
I wonder how many netbooks were sold due to marketing bull
You never bought an Ipad, doesn't mean you're more intelligent than those who did. And doesn't mean those who did fell for the hype.
Maybe if Apple was poor at marketing the Ipad would be more acceptable. Strange world, innit.
I don't think you're even reading my posts before responding. Where the f do I even suggest that all... you know what, it's not worth my breath. Glad you are happy with your device.0 -

have a half decent laptop already. just want something a bit more 'just pick up and use' and I would think easier if out and about.0 -

Everything in my post was in response to what was in your posts. Maybe you just forgot what you typed.

I've got a Advent Vega. It cost £250 and is most definately the best Android device out there on the market. It comes with a restrict rom but there is a customised rom created by some developers which unleash the best out of it. Runs Android 2.2 with full flash support.
Sold via the DSG group online and is very limited in stocks, usually sells out as soon as it is available each time online.0 -
Like others have said, go and try out the touch screen first, before you decide one one. They vary greatly, and could get very irritating I imagine if you get one that isn't that good.0
